nice work
Using a penetrating oil to break up the rust will help some but you may
have to use a pair of vice grips if the rust has taken over the head of the
bolt and you can’t turn it with a socket.
looks so easy, but when stuff is rusted threw that hole.. then what?
Hi Thanks for replying but thats not what I need I already have the fuel
filler line what I need is the “S” shaped hose that connects the fuel
filler line to the gas tank. do you have any ?
cool
bolt just crumbled… im in new england, we have a serious road salt issue
up here and it just ruins cars
great video thanks!
Some vehicles didn’t have them. It should be okay. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
I just want to say Thank You for posting this video. I finally got around
to changing the filler neck on my 04 Chevy Cavalier on Saturday and even
thought it was a pain to get out due to all the rust (I live in Vermont /
very salty up here), it was worth the time and effort. After I finished the
job, I took my car to fill it up and about a mile down the road, the Check
Engine Light turned off… After a lot of research about a P0455 code,
nothing I read said to check the filler tube. Thanks
We carry one on our website 1aauto.com Part Number: 1AFMX00059 that looks
to be the whole assembly. This should be what you need to fix the issue
that you’re having. Hope this helps you out.
Hi I have to replace the fuel filler tube on my 03 Chevy Malibu and I have
the part but now i need the “s” shaped hose that connects the filler tube
to the gas tank itself.. Apparently gm doesnt make them anymore. So my
question is can you tell me what the name of the hose is and where i could
possibly buy one I am in Canada , Alberta
Doing this job on a chevy venture, any trick to the “quick disconnect” fuel
line connection on the vent tube on the filler neck? Metal is very rotted
and i can’t seem to disconnect it..
You’re welcome, have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
my cars filler.neck does not have the little round blocking thing in the
middle .is that normal?
You will have to work on it with some penetrating oil and just time.
Kind of a dumb question, but does the gas tank need to be empty before you
do this? My 04 Cavalier has a P0455 code and I have tried several gas caps.
After inspecting my filler neck, it’s in pretty rough shape and I want to
replace it to see if the code goes away.
We don’t, if it’s just a rubber piece of hose, take it off and go to your
local parts store, they can match it and cut you one to length, if it’s
just a rubber piece of hose. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com

I. Just finished this on my car and I had to remove the tire to get the
filler neck out it was a 2001 chevy Malibu ls. FYI Nice video Ps mine was
rotted out filled the tank with dirt plugged up the fuel pump bad
At a minmum you should have as little fuel as possible in the tank before
you take it out. This will help to ensure that none spills out on you while
replacing the filler neck. We carry new ones on our website 1aauto.com
