hi there, recently changed the plugs in my 07′ TB starting to make a
whining noise…not sure if it’s the idler or power related, any ideas?

1A Auto Parts says:

It might, if there’s enough on there.

Jim Reynolds says:

excellent… just did it… took 10 minutes… very easy…. savings
80dollars .. part 18.99 … Thank you so much….

1A Auto Parts says:

It could be a lifter in the motor ticking.

Raymond T says:

hi I was driving my 97 chevy blazer and the idel pully broke of I found the
pully but I cant find the bolt. whats the length and size of that bolt any
help would be nice thanks

1A Auto Parts says:

We’re not exactly sure. If you go to the dealer they should be able to
provide you with the proper bolt size. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Great video solved my problem in 15 Minutes thanks

kachas88 says:

What noise the ticking noise like tick, tick, tick_____tick,
tick__tick__________tick, tick or something like that!

1A Auto Parts says:

It may if the bearing is going bad.

1A Auto Parts says:

HI Nick, It may. If you take the serpentine belt off of the pulley you can
test it to see if it’s loose or not.

Clint Roehr says:

Again great video! I pulled off the belt and started the car, no noise. I
changed the idler pulley and POW no noise now! Thanks again for your help!
🙂

I also got Wd-40 on the belt while trying to get the pulley off. It was
pretty rusty and wouldn’t come off. Would that make it squeak?

wendyjae says:

Hi Guys! I enjoy and appreciate your videos. My Trailblazer also has a
whining noise that has increased over time. I think we have it narrowed
down to the AC clutch bearing. Would you agree? It does not make a noise
when turning the steering wheel. Do you have a video for that? Changing an
AC clutch bearing? Thanks very much. W & D

Christ Schlacta says:

you should include parts and tools list in the description as well as a
picture of them near the beginning of the video

1A Auto Parts says:

HI Clint it could be, you may want to see if the noise chamges at all if
you turn the steering wheel. if it does, it may have something to do with
the steering.

Steven Brown says:

Would this tensioner cause a loud noise like whining turbo sound?

Tyler Miller says:

hey 1A thanks a ton ive had a bad whining noise at idle and at low mph
acceleration and it was very annoying. looked into it and seen your video
swapped out pulley tonight per your video and sounds great now! appreciate
you guys taking the time to make the video for the do it yourselfers
appreciate it!

1A Auto Parts says:

Thanks for watching. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1A Auto Parts says:

We do tell you what tools you may need for the job.

Jake Mickelberg says:

Yes Nick, if its making a whining sound you need to replace it. The whining
sound comes from the bearings being out in your idler pully. I had the same
problem in mine just fixed it. Took me a total of 15 minutes.

1A Auto Parts says:

Normally you will have to replace the entire compressor because everything
is sealed together and it requires a special tool to remove the clutch from
the compressor housing.

Nick Sorrentino says:

thanks for reponding I changed it and that was the fix. It was sticking in
its rotation and would not spin freely

Clint Roehr says:

Hi guys! love the videos! I have a whining noise in my 2006 trailblazer.
The whining noise is much worse when accelerating but you can hear in at
idle. I have changed the power steering pump fluid and just got done
changing the alternator. Still whining. Do you think the Idler pulley is
the next best option for me?

1A Auto Parts says:

If it sounds like the power steering you may want to check the fluid level.

Mr Beepinheimer says:

ive got the same noise, its the belt not the pulley.

1A Auto Parts says:

If that’s what is making the noise, then it should.

kachas88 says:

Will this solve my ticking noise when idle?

xXReLentLess99Xx says:

Thanks for the video

Nick Sorrentino says:

would a bad idler pulley make a whining sound

kachas88 says:

Mmmm.. Cuz i know that this is common on the chevy trailblazer only and
it’s start happening right away after i changed the water pump!
