I’ve come across some of these GM cars (notably the 06 Impala), that use a
T27 Torx bit instead of a T30 for the brake rotor’s single Torx screw. This
screw can be a real pain to remove if it’s heavily rusted and may require
the use of an impact driver (not to be confused with an impact wrench) or
the screw head may have to be drilled out. This screw is only installed by
the factory to hold the rotor in place on the assembly line, so it can be
omitted altogether if needed.
