Thanks for the ratchet on tensioner tip! After failing with several other items I turned to YouTUbe and you.

1aauto says:

If it hasn’t been tuned up in a while, you may want to start with a simple tune up.

1aauto says:

You may want to see if there is a stored code in the computer that may tell you what the issue is.

George Crenshaw says:

Simple question, My truck battery icon all of a sudden came on. AZ and Orel test ed and said alternator good, battery good. Reinstall same thing happens any suggestions.

I have a 2003 Chevy Surburban. When I put it in drive, it tends to want to cut off. Could it be the alternator or something else? I put a new battery in.

Bill Dingus says:

Great video, walked me through the whole job. Had you right there in the garage. Many thanks.

A no start is something that will be difficult to diagnose but I recommend bringing the truck to someone before you start throwing parts at a problem.

1aauto says:

If there’s a check engine light on in the dash you may want to pull the code to see what could be causing the issue.

1aauto says:

There may be a loose wire or loose ground somewhere. Also check the switch and the fuses to see if they are okay.

Sometimes you have to wiggle the alternator around a bit as you turn the bolt.

James Sanson says:

How do You align the bolts to the alternator – I have been trying and trying.

1aauto says:

I’m not 100% sure. I’m not aware of or have seen anyone make this kind of a swap. You may want to check out an automotive forum for your vehicle to see if there’s someone out there that has done this. They may be able to tell you exactly what you would need.

Fantastic video. I canceled my appt at the mechanic after watching this and decided to try it on my own. The worst issue I had was getting the bolt holes lined up. 30 minutes later and I was done. Great service to the common man you provide.

What a great video!! Thanks a million!! Step by Step exactly as I needed to do on my Chevy Silverado 1500 with the Vortec V-8 motor.
Now if you would do a Replacing Power Steering Pump on the same motor I would be set. Many videos and instructions but not for my style assembly and no where as clear of instructions as you do. Again Thanks for the long distance help!!
