Excellent video. I just removed my gas tank, and it went mostly like this – except longer, and everything was way more rusty. My locking ring was half gone, so removing wasn't a problem. Probably why it's been leaking, and maybe the cause of my misfiring issues. Glad the metal tabs on the tank seem to be ok – a bit rusty, though. Maybe I should epoxy it when I re-install with the new ring, don't know.

Unfortunately, my truck kicked off when I had half a tankful of gas, so I'm stuck with a bit in the tank still. I poured out as much as I could, and thought about washing it out like in the video, but will probably just reinstall as is.

Just ordered a pump – wish I'd done it ahead of time, but wanted to see how this went first, before paying for a new pump.

Hi, I need some help. I would like to install a GPS tracker, in my colorado 2004, can somebody tell me which color wire is from the pump gasoline? Please

shawn deming says:

I replaced the pump two days ago and today the engine wont start like it's not getting fuel. What could that be sounds like the pump is working.

Oo says:

Can you replace it by removing the bed of the truck? Would it be easier as a home repair?

Tearstolaughter says:

Thank you so much Mr. Young, for this very helpful video.

More Time Than Money says:

Anyone know if the white evap part with two pipes coming out is removable or is it part of the gas tank?

Eric St-Pierre says:

I did it like you. Pump works fine but the fuel level doesn't work well. After filling the tank (30$). The level stay empty. what's wrong? After filling full. The indicator says about 3/4.

Francisco Martinez says:

can I remove the bed and do it from the top, I have a chevy Colorado 2005 3.5 L, I think the fuel pump went out., I would like to know if I just can remove the bed, that would save time and work.

Luis Benitez says:

Is it the same for a Chevy Colorado 2006? Single cab

Strongfp says:

Why not just remove the bed and replace it that way?

frtygoat40 says:

We have a 2005 Colorado and have replaced the fuel pump three times within the last 2 months. I was told that only a AC-Delco pump would work we used some after market brand ?

Bearded man and an asian says:

I know with the old S10 it is way easier just to take the bed off 6 bolts and done.

Josue Bernal says:

This should work for the hummer h3 as well. I am about to find out 😉

Nick Thompson says:

how long does that usually take?

Eric Mcfarland says:

Very nice video thank you
