The one person method for mounting the mirrors is pretty simple. Two short cords of rope with a knot on one the end. Put them through the outer bracket holes. Thread them through the back side of the plate and then through the door. You can pull the ropes tight and then start the center screw mounting the mirror from the outside. then add an extra screw one at a time. About a 3-minute job.

MyHairyChin says:

I did both my 67 door mirrors by my self! Try that hahaha

Aaron C. says:

Looks good. Did the same with mine except i went to a truck stop and got a pair of blind spot mirrors for a big truck, found some the same size as the originals. Took some getting used to but gives me a much better view.

elbolio says:

Hey budd, I got a 64 c10,got the mirrors, just I can’t find the inside mounting brackets, you didn’t use your new ones, any chance I can buy them from you? I searched the shop that you mention, but they don’t have them ,Thanks!

Zuniga’s Car Detailing says:

Do you need the bracket to mount them ?

Henry G says:

Just thinking of putting permatex super adhesive on back of brackets for next time you have to take screws out it will stay in place option??

Jeff Martin says:

funny you take time to paint the mirror, why not paint the mounting bracket….Look even better..
If you just bend a "L" on one leg of a cotter pin, you have a puller for the clips on the door handle and
the window crank…Put clip in the slot, put handle on stud, slight tap will put in back on!!! Enjoyed your video's, thanks jeff

jlopez1595 says:

Truck looks killer! Would you happen to know the bolt hole size for the mounting screws?

Dean Kay says:

My son bought a 67 C10 Longbed a few years ago for a lawn mowing business but as I welded holes, rusted spots and fixed some engine stuff plus everything electrical, he changed his mind and gave me the truck. It took me back to age 14 when I purchased a 65 C10 Apache shortbed from a construction company for $200. It was used to provide fuel & oil to field equipment and the wood floor was soaked in used motor oil & diesel fuel to never rot or decay with old growth southern pine standard.
The long bed 67 became mine, but as a retired ASE Master Tech, I am updating over time to many features including a 5.3L Tahoe engine w/over-drive automatic I had already bench built + many extras for a daily driver. My question is this the OEM location for those OEM mirror brackets? My mirrors and rear window are aftermarket and soo wrong. I cut a cab with large window from a bone yard with inside & out metal, flanged it, welded it in & installed a slider. Thanks, liked & subscribed!

Jef Spencer says:

the door handle and window crank clips are easy to remove, just use an old grease rag (hook and swoop), it actually works better than the real tool

alleric357 says:

You should think about painting those door panels that shade of white, would be an interesting contrast.

Jesse Anderson says:

good call on the no faux patina, it matched great with the wheels and the rest of the build. just my personal opinion Never Ever faux patina (or fake mother natures paint work) it never looks quite right and never looks as good as she can, so don't even try, leave the patina up to mother nature. she dose it the best so don't insult her by trying to attempt it your self. You wouldn't have a truck pro top notch ten's of thousands of dollar paint job done on your truck and then decide to pinstripe it yourself, having laid 0, zip,  Nada pinstripes down yourself ever, right? keep'um clean keep'um simple and most of all keep'um or get'um down in the weeds and drive them as they were meant to be driven. oh ya keep smiling folks.
ps. great channel best I have come upon in a while really really enjoying it keep up the great work. thanks for saving them from the crusher and keeping them alive!

Family Mann says:

I know those damn door handles very well and yes they are a pain I changed mine out to the ones that have a set screw and all ya have to do is loosen up the screw and wah lah

Family Mann says:

When ya getting teddy some new rockers buddy

Jesus A O says:

Great videos, new to the channel have not been able to watch all of your videos. I have one question what can I do to keep my trucks Patina, I recently got a 75 c10 shortbed and want to keep the patina. But do not want it to keep rusting. Thank you.
