I hardly ever dislike videos, but this is by far a useless instruction
video. Awesome camera technology and showing nothing. I’ve seen better
instruction and step by step videos by others.
I have a 04 ford explorer 4.0 liter. The transmission was rebuilt and
started leaking slowly at 35,000 miles. The transmission was taken out the
front seal, pump seal, and rear seal was replaced on the transmission. Now
the fluid is only leaking while you are driving the vehicle. You can leave
it running for hours in park and it doesn’t leak. But once you put it in
motion it leaks pretty bad. Do you have any idea what would make it leak
only while driving it? Thanks for any help you can give! The torque
converter has been looked at by a transmission shop and they say it looks
fine! My husband is a 18 wheeler and automobile mechanic but doesn’t know a
lot about transmissions. He was thinking maybe it’s the front pump. But I
have looked for a replacement front pump but I guess you can’t just buy the
pump by itself.
Great video, if I don’t put tranny fluid in to the torque converter and
simply fit the torque converter in like that, won’t the torque converter
fill with fluid when I fill the tranny with fluid? I saw how far you pushed
the torque converter in, does it stop at the dead end when it hits the end
or do you stop before that?
Are all the bolts that hold the transmission housing to the engine block
the same size on a 1998 Ford F-150 with the 4.6 engine? Or are the top two
bolts longer? It’s the small size transmission. Thanks!
