Hi Frisco, I have an ’01 GMC Sierra, the previous owner has tried to
hardwire a pioneer in. Long story short I have no dash lights and I’v come
to the conclusion it’s because he mickey moused the radio wiring. My panel
feed (purple/white) and dimmer wire (grey) aren’t hooked up to anything on
the back of the radio. But the thing is the radio only has 4 extra wires
after hooking the speaker wires up, ground, constant 12v, ign acc and amp
feed.

theunicycler14 says:

Can you please tell me the brand of wire harness you got for the truck I
have tried many times with different harnesses and they didn’t work

Courtney McCrobey says:

does all 04 and up model cars has to have a special harness

julius armstrong says:

I hooked up my gmoslan02 wirining harness and now only my rear speakers
play and i dont get full sound throughout the car and my chimes dont work
you think you may know whats wrong

Casey Sanders says:

I have a 2003 Silverado base extended cab and I wanted to know if the
pioneer DEHX6600BT will fit my dash without doing any cutting

Rone Mitch says:

if you need parts order them off of “amazon” best place for in dash kit and
wiring harness

Jose Gomez says:

What kind of mounting kit did.you use?

Beth Comstock McLain says:

we follow your videos, hubby has a 2006 duramax extended cab. Have you
replaced speakers yet? would love to see how!

mrhenderson says:

I have the same model truck but I need a double DIN and cant find the kit!
Can you help me find one? thanks!

Billy Hunt says:

i have a 05 tahoe with onstar do u have to have a special onstar harness to
install a aftermarket head unit?

FriscoJarretts says:

@Lasurge1982 No it does not. There is a whole separate set of issues with
the bose system. The truck I have now has the bose system, and it is
proving a lot more expensive to change.

FriscoJarretts says:

@Lasurge1982 I am not sure.

Ryan Blevins says:

So, 2005 Silverado here, no power to the new deck… What could be the
problem…

jesse rideout says:

I got the same stereo and im trying to hoik it up in tge same truck but the
only thing I dont have is that black gm piece but do I need that piece for
it to turn on because im having problems getting power to my new stereo

FriscoJarretts says:

@screw602 That is going to be a connection problem, or just a bad radio out
of the box. Was the deck you installed new? Try putting the old deck back
in and see if it works.

FriscoJarretts says:

@italianmoses If you have a local stereo shop, that is the place to start.
If I remember correctly, it is a metra part. Just google metra.

castrobrit says:

Hi, i Have a Silverado 2005 1500 and i don,t know what is the name (Model
or Spare), to the module Adapter you Used for don’t Lost the sound of the
alarms in the speakers with the new Radio?, Regards

Tristian Cavalli says:

also what is on the end of the orange wire. On my harness there is an
orange wire but not another orange wire to connect it to so i was wondering
what to do with it. thank you.

FriscoJarretts says:

It saves you from having to shop up the dash wiring. There is some stuff in
that wiring on some of these cars that if wires wrong, can cause airbag
issues, and other problems. Back in the day, we would cut the wires and
splice it in. These days it is required at a stereo shop if you want them
to install it.

FriscoJarretts says:

Any local stereo shop. There i snot much margin in this products, so you
will still spend over 100 dollars if you want to keep your chime.

FriscoJarretts says:

@boomstickkid Yes. It is held one with clips.

Scotty Allen says:

how do i get the radio out of my 99 silverado
scotty.lee.allen1988@gmail.com please seone imhaving a brain art r tsis
harder ten i thought!

FriscoJarretts says:

@mrhenderson I believe you remove the mounts from the factory radio and
bolt them to the new radio. It has been a while since I did one.

FriscoJarretts says:

@licherik I would try calling pioneer directly

PookyBrownstone says:

this is great. last little bit i needed two know to install my sys. stupid
150 @ best buy…..hahaha

TurnDriverSide says:

Great video, thank you

FriscoJarretts says:

@billyhunt95 I think so.

screw602 says:

@Friscojarretts yeah brand new nd okay ill try putting in the old one and
seeing if it works

FriscoJarretts says:

@termkk There is a kit for that. Go to the metra website and look up your
truck. If you do not use the kit you have to cut the wires.

FriscoJarretts says:

My local car stereo store

Billy Hunt says:

do u know by any chance what would happen if i didnt have the onstar
harness?

mrhenderson says:

@FriscoJarretts I already got the kit and some tint I’ll be ballin!
