Josh Koopman says:

i would just cut the hole in the bottom with some mesh across it… just the increased air is going to do a shit ton more than leaving it stock. plus it’s easier haha

Don Ewald says:

That’s ridiculous. The air filter itself is what gives you better cold air intake

rickyrasta32 says:

The hole on the bottom of the intake Housing should be good enough . I did the same thing MINUS the Hose . I ONLY CUT A HOLE UNDER THE HOUSING . Thats it

Vtrjfrost says:

awesome.. now you can suck tons of water, bugs and dirt into your fiter. just get some generic 3inch pipe, couplers, hose clamps and an ebay filter. way better looking and performing. this is just ricer and ghetto. theres cheap and thats fine..then theres stupid like this.

Pmpbreeze Ogah says:

Ghetto LMFAO.

Thames Zabala says:

red neck intake

chabelito1273 says:

LMAO…….. that is freaken getto…….. LMAO

Cam Mehr says:

does your truck have any better performance? thinking about this for my 99 z71 with a 4.8

jr540123 says:

In my case when I plan to make one, I plan to put some kind of mesh infrom of my pipe to filter out bigger shit like grass and leave’s or other junk that might go through where I place it. Also the position where I’m placing mine on my ford is gonna be next to the radiator so water getting in my intake is not a huge factor with my setup.

mista megasquash says:

That is such a bad idea… So much crap will get in there now… No wonder why theres all those leaves…

Ryan Ross says:

your fucking duuuummmmmbbbbb you just add stuff to it

Bert Sweet says:

i have a 02 blazer and i made your ideal better i took out the filter box and ran the gutter hose and i spayed heat paint on it to keep the heat off the hose i’m getting better gas millage and you’re right you don’t have to spend a ton of money on a cold air intake

moparman300 says:

all you should have done was buy a performance cone air filter and hook it to your throttle body but your set up it could trap water in that gutter pipe and be suck in and mess up your truck i always say if your not gonna do it right don,t do it at all.

cool. Looks like a ram air kit. You may want to put some sort of mesh screen over the end of the intake to prevent dirt from clogging it… but good set up for free I think.

Nordheimian22 says:

There is no way that i could put that on my stock truck and gain 30 HP. 5 is more realistic.

PopCulturzTV says:

yep, you can do what you want..

TunerTeen1023 says:

You could also just buy some intercooler pipe and it will look a lot nicer than some plastic pipe.

TheBourabo says:

Ive completely sank an engine at least 3 or 4 times in my opinion hydrolocking is a myth

Jant Cope says:

This mod is dumb if u drive it in the rain or through a puddle of water itll get in the engine n possibly hydrolock it

PopCulturzTV says:

of course…

SteelHardHat says:

What if you drive in the rain or snow? That seems like it would work its way up and get sucked in

PopCulturzTV says:

well it doesnt go slower…but if you’re being serious, do some reading up on modifications for increased HP. the correct answer here is…you cant tell a difference with 5 extra HP

PopCulturzTV says:

cant tell much just with this mod..id say no.
