Brett Cook says:

It’s always a bad idea to use an impact on those torsion bolts.

vettelover2009 says:

I’m sorry, but a torsion bar is under pressure, even when lifted off the
ground…so yes, a special tool is needed…you can do it your way, and
I’ll do it mine…and I’d be willing to bet mine is safe 99.99% of the
time…gotta factor in some sort of failure as nothing is 100%, ever. Your
way…well, you risk your face, eyes, or hands all you want.

cooper8318 says:

You do need the torsion tool for full size chevys but in this video they
are working on a Colorado so no tool needed. I just did one and when the
vehicle is lifted off the ground there is almost no pressure left in the
bars

G ghost r th gf

stilner says:

bahaha here in canada u could spend hours with a sledge hammer or a air
hammer tryin to get them fuckers out

keltingr says:

lol, not even an impact socket! Insert foot in mouth

droller177 says:

@brayd4586 to level out the rear mostly you will use blocks under the leaf
spring or you can also buy add-a-leaf kits to lift your rear end. and no
after you install these torsion keys it does not affect ride quality unless
you tweak the bolts past what they were set to with the stock keys

brayd4586 says:

when putting the torsion keys on, dont you need to level out the rear? if
so, what would you use? I can’t find any rear leveling kits on line for
chevy. also how stiff is the susspention after putting the keys on?

Bishop5k says:

fast forward to 1:00 if you’re not a complete moron =x

JasWarLea says:

Copy that. Detroit here. Same problem

PETE ZEDLITZ says:

I AM TRYING TO REMOVE MY TORSION BARS HAVE THE REAR CROSS MEMBER LOSE AND
FREE THE KEYS ARE STUCK CANT GET THE FRONT TO COME OUT ANY SUGESTIONS

Bkrites says:

a 2 jaw gear puller works real well to unload the 88 – 98 GM torsion bars

creed de says:

what are you supposed to use then?

ruben banda says:

is it possible to lift my chevy suburban 3′ to fit 26′ rims for clear
space?

Turbo Bark says:

@clipdan You can turn them off

duckpicker89 says:

you dont have to have a special tool to unload the bars if you know what
your doing…common sense and a little mechanical knowledge and its a piece
of cake

Gary Johnson says:

Who cares. Its only going to damage his impact.

13Archaic13 says:

a lift is a waste on that truck

SALEEN961 says:

@atv360k The funny thing is that after saying that he didn’t even use the
right socket, your never supposed to use a chrome socket on an impact
wrench, they make impact grade sockets for a reason.

DENMONKEY says:

I was wondering why the video didn’t seem to deliver the promise of the
title. Then I realized. F^&KING Expert village.

Holiver31 says:

@SALEEN961 You do realize they make chromed impact sockets right? I have a
set.

deftones456 says:

Boom Bam !!!!

yz250frider1 says:

for the entire kit about $1700 or $1800

tymezsayn says:

whats with all the writing evry where u cant see the work being done pretty
retarded no ?

TLT1020 says:

I’m doing this project now and my bars are not coming out that easy. I’m
fighting just to push them out. Maybe because they been on there for so
long. I’m removing my transmission with the transfer case on it. I figure
it would be alot easier to pull them down together then to seperate them
and make a mess and have to reseal where the transmission mates with the
transfer case. I’m doing the rear main seal.

Austin Eddy says:

whoever designed the torsion bar system needs a good kick in the head. been
about 4 hours and i still cant remove my keys from the bar.

steven thomas says:

holy hell thought he was dying. aha that was ballsy impact on torsion bars?
way to go
