In this video I bring you along as I look at a customers Chevy Trailblazer that has a customer complaint of unwanted ABS activation. Every time the customer pulls up to a stop sign or into a parking spot the ABS kicks on and the vehicle keeps moving forward. This can be a dangerous situation in a parking lot for sure. Lucky for him it is a no parts required fix…. at least it was this time.
-Enjoy!

Hoenest to God , I've owned 3 Failblazers. Found it easier just to replace the entire hub.
This happened to me on my Suburban. My fix: unplug the ABS module. Drove without ABS for 30 years, don't need it. Most people don't understand how ABS helps them anyways, they just stab the brakes and close their eyes.
hey Eric just wondering how many miles you have around that block after all the years there ? hehe. Great video as always dude. nice work. is there any documentation on how many thousands it is away from tone ring for a 2001 Jimmy slt per chance . Thanks in advance. Sya Hi to Mrs.O for me .
Hello Eric,I catch myself with a big ole grin watching your channel. Thanks man
I very much wish I had seen this before my '09 Silverado gave me an unwanted ABS activation that put me into the front wall of my garage!
I had that fun with the driver's side sensor on a Chevy; didn't pull then either. Blew the sensor hole out while spinning the notches, cleaned it up a touch & the sensor, some dielectric grease around the sensor… fixed.
06 VW, replaced wheel bearing and hub with aftermarket crap. noticed at every stop ABS would activate at slow speed coming to stop. Long story short, bad hub had wrong dimensions and too much of a gap between sensor and teeth. OE ever since.
Great job Eric o Great video
Short cutting corners
"Black Ice" is a scent?
Owned three of those body on frame Trailblazers. CHEVY stopped producing them. Bought the Toyota 4runner – sturdy workhorse- no issues whatsoever. Will never buy American crap again.
That's the reason why aftermarket speed sensors for those Chevys always come with a stack of shims. Put the sensor inside the hole and bottom it out. Gently rotate the hub and if you feel the sensor make contact with the grooves inside the hub then you need to start stacking on shims to back the sensor out a little. When it no longer makes contact inside you are usually good to go. ABS light will go out and all is well.
some cars, like my 2000 bmw z3 roadster disable the traction control system when a fault is detected, which is perpetual.
have u tried SUPERZILLA yet?
Really useful information, thank you. And well done.
I live in the rust belt of PA and for sure we've seen dozens of GM trucks with ABS problems due to the sensors being pushed away from the tone ring due to rust buildup. Rusty crusty is no good.
Heck ya, honestly thanks. You may not know it but I think I'd rather watch and listen to you work than find a show to pass any sort or time. Unless it's Saturday and Pro motocross is on. Which btw, Unidilla in central(?) New York, by New Berlin, is coming up Aug 12. I'd recommend going if you can. Family event. I'm in Idaho and would love to but, not this year.
ya just solved my issue and without a tissue

Thank You Eric O.
Why didn’t you replace the O ring ?
Andy probably had something to do with the rust…
I struggled with this on my 06 Trailblazer. Dog at the ABS wire while protecting my family from a squirrel…….so I re-wired, no love. Bought just a new sensor wire….no work. Had to purchase a new hub with wire. And yes, getting the sensor out was quite the project! Then the other side went out. Exact same symptoms as what you show….I sold it.
My grandfather absolutely swore by Kroil.
