Not even…. Just reach in and pop off the the round covers ( I used a
pocket knife ) you can pull the bulb rite out. Unless you wanna give
yourself extra work. Took me 3 minutes…. Literally !
Thanks, this was exactly what I needed! Extracted the left assembly,
replaced the low-light bulb, and had it all back together in under 15
minutes, and that was with taking time to look around and check other
stuff, too!
Have not yet replaced the bulb HOWEVER; whoever designed the headlights on
the Trailblazer should go work for the North Koreans building their next
rocket !!. I just replaced the headlights on my Chevy Suburban. Pull two
rods up by hand and the entire headlight assembly is removed. 1/4 turn and
the bulb is out. Replace assembly & reinstall rods. Easy 3 mins.
Trailblazer is just ridiculous design.
I’m about to go outside and replace my low beam light as well. I agree with
what others have to say about the very poor design. I’ve never owned a
vehicle that required these ridiculous steps to replace the lamp! One of
many reasons why I’m never buying another Chevrolet.
1) removing the grill in real time: QrM1b91RIS8. 2) Or just reach down
behind the headlight assembly and pop the rubber cap off with a flat head
and go in that way without messing with the grill at all. It’s tighter this
way but very doable. Took me about 2 minutes to get the drivers side low
beam swapped. twist bulb 1/8 turn counter clockwise to pop out, use flat
head to pop out wiring harness. Simple!
Or– simply pop the cap off the back of the headlight and replace it from
the engine compartment side. Much easier, you don’t have to do all that
prying. You might have to remove the air filter cover to get to the
passenger side, but isn’t it time to change it too.
Maybe I can try it without removing the grill. Enjoyed video and comments.
Very informative.
simple enough, thanks
