Chevy Equinox 3.4 V6 thermostat replacement and burp procedure

Chevy Equinox 3.4 V6 thermostat replacement and burp procedure

So today I’m working on a 2005 Chevy equinox that has a 3.4 V6 in it this is also gonna be the same information for any Saturn Vue that has the 3.4 V6 and any Pontiac torrent that has the 3.4 V6 you might want to watch the whole video because there’s quite a bit of information in here that you may or may not know changing the thermostat itself is actually very simple it’s the burp procedure that is actually complicated and or misunderstood. So if you have a 2003 Chevy equinox 2004 Chevy equinox 2005 Chevy equinox 2006 Chevy equinox 2007 Chevy equinox with the V6 engine this is the procedure for burping it and replacing the thermostat this will also work on the 2003 Saturn Vue 200 so if you have a 2003 Chevy equinox 2004 Chevy equinox 2005 Chevy equinox 2006 Chevy equinox 2007 Chevy equinox with the V6 engine this is the procedure for burping it and replacing the thermostat this will also work on the 2003 Saturn Vue or 2003 Pontiac torrent 2004 Pontiac torrent 2005 Pontiac torrent 2006 Pontiac torrent 2007 Pontiac torrent. God bless have a great day

@lifewiththeleonardfamily8945 says:

I'm stuck at removing the bottom bolt. What size wrench did you use? I tried a 1/2 ratcheting wrench but it's not gripping

@Monkeyymodels says:

Hey so um, quick question. What’s the best way/ how to do a full radiator flush??

@Craigonater says:

Thanks for the video!

@lynettamorse3547 says:

You're the best thank you so much!

@dman615 says:

Thanks new sub and I fixed my recently acquired Pontiac Torrent! No more overheating and doesn’t need head gaskets

@derbyct864 says:

Good job you don't show thermostat being removed or placed in , that may be helpful

@michaelflorence2371 says:

I had no heat in my car before watching this video. I am so glad I stumbled upon this.

@francinemcnabb6915 says:

Thank you. I finally found out how to get the air lock out, I kept hearing the term bleeder valve but didn't have a clue where it was, this video was greatly informative to me. Thank you a million times

@debbiroberts7229 says:

Awesome I'm hopeing this works I've taken my car to 2 mechanics both says nothing is wrong with my cooling system but sometimes I notice my temp gage starting to rise not past 1/2 way mark but I will open hood smell antifreeze smell and see a drip of coolant coming out driving on engine but I turn car off and back on and it doesn't continue to overheat I have suggested that it seems like a pressure leak to me as it only seems to come out of a weak spot on my hoses I think it's my thermostate

@dannygoss2355 says:

You skipped the hard part I couldn’t barely get the thermostat housing off do to exhaust

@tomholskey992 says:

And then you replace the belt because it squeals to no end with all the antifreeze being dumped on it.

@JMSCollegeFun says:

Hello! My heats out and it causes the internal windshield to fog up all the time. When you switch cool to heat, you don’t hear the vents change at all. I’ve put coolant in the designated spot 2weeks ago and now again just yesterday due to it being low again. When I turn car on and slowly open the top that you put the antifreeze, it starts to boil.

@rogeliogarcia6322 says:

Would a failing thermostat cause lukearm heat on this car I have that problem on mine on a 2007 with the 3.4 and I don’t wanna go for replacing the heater core cause that’s a terrible job to do but I’ll try this first?

@darthjar9117 says:

But now don’t you have too much coolant in the overflow tank?

@thehardesttry says:

Hey I have a question what is the hose coming out of the back of the thermo housing? It kinda Y's off to the reservoir

@MrSenorhappy says:

Great video, thanks for sharing

@jamesbreeding7090 says:

I see your Service Stabiltrak light was on too. Lol I literally hate this car for that reason alone!

@robb15431 says:

Do i need the funnel

@darrellkc48 says:

Thank you. Everything I needed to know and the job went smoothly and quickly.

@maryhinnenkamp5252 says:

You should also say to run the vehicle with the bleeder screw open for about 15 to 20 minutes..did that for my 06 equinox..I now have heat again..
