What a fiddly piece to get in… especially holding the camera…
Same problem 2006 Impala thought it was way up behind the dash but now I
see it’s an easy fix. Thanks for sharing great help !!!
Thanks for your detailed video. I followed your instructions and the
replacement part fixed the problem. The mini-ratchet is a key for taking
the fasteners out and putting them back in. It’s a very small area behind
the glove box.
Great video, thanks!! Wow, how the heck did you do that while filming?
Couple tips in case it helps anyone else.
1- I took the black part off the glove box. It gave me way more room. 4
screws and three on the handle.
2- I taped a string on all the tools I used in case I dropped any. I know
it sounds weird but I didn’t want to have to start removing panels.
3- I unclipped that big wad of wires so I could move it aside for more
room. It didn’t give much more but anything was helpful. Just use a small
screwdriver and pry the clip up.
4- I clipped the wire on the actuator before I put it back on that white
wheel and put the screws in. I didn’t want the actuator to pop off before
I got a screw on and fall to who knows where. As soon as I got one screw
started then I unclipped the wire and finished with the screws.
I just ordered the part. But after watching this am totally confused about
attaching the harness to line up the part But not let it go past. Plus I
have huge hands. Looks like it’s gonna be fun
Nice work klown!
Which part is that cuz my 2007 impala dose the thing is it the ac or the
heater
Great video!!!…followed step by step and saved myself a ton of money by
not going to a dealer…it’s a bitch doing it but that’s Chevy for ya
Great video, thanks for taking the time to film and explain. You saved me a
lot of money (and now I have a new tiny 1/4″ rachet tool)!
What tools did you use?
Would you be able to find that piece at Autozone?
Where can I buy the actuator

Klowny1969,
Thanks for the video. I have been listening to this for months. It worked
just like you said with the exception of busting your knuckle on some of
the items in the tight space. Saved a bunch of money. Now I have one on the
drivers side doing the same thing but only when I move the temp gauge to
full cool.
I have a question are the accuator the same on both sides? Or are they
different part numbers
very good job…. thank you
Great job explaining. Followed your instructions. Worked really well. Best
to remove the glove compartment. Likewise, a thumb ratchet designed for
tight spaces worked great for me. Save myself a ton of money.
It was a challenge to hold the camera and do this at the same time lol
What if it comes from both the driver and the passenger side ?
Very common for these things to go bad… get used toreplacing them
aften… there is like 4 I beleave in total.
Ive replaced 3 of these actuators in less than 2 years the gears in these
thing are made of plastic and always brake… fucking anoing sound these
things make when the gear breaks….
Buy it at the chevy dealer or online
