Today I show you a detailed full install of Amp Research Running Boards on my 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss. If you are looking for a premium running board for your truck, look no further than the Amp Research Power Running Boards. These boards deploy when you open any of the doors on your truck. They retract 2 seconds after you close the door. They come with a 5-year/60,000mile warranty. The install was not difficult at all, but it is very time consuming. The steps also come with LED lights that illuminate when you open the doors, but I decided that my automatic OPT7 Underglow lighting was plenty of light. The board is 6 inches wide which gives you a lot of room to step on. I am a short guy and having these boards come down further than my drop steps made it much easier for me to climb in the truck.

When installing these boards make sure you torque screws to the proper specs and don’t over tighten. It was a little difficult to find a 1/4in torque that went down to 36in LBS. I finally came across a Pittsburgh torque wrench from Harbor Freight that did the job. It is really great that these are plug and play via the OBDII port. You can install these boards yourself, but it would be a little easier if you had a second person.
