This has been happening with my 2004 for a few years now… So glad I found
this video. Thanks!

Tim Jongquist says:

I have a 2004 impala and have water all over the passenger floor board and
under passenger seat after it rains, is this what happened to you? Think
it’s the same for 2004 impalas?

joelb79 says:

Fix this problem before the water gets into your vehicle wiring harness
inside the dash and blows out your BCM Headlight controller. That repair
will cost much more than the blower motor and a/c mode actuator, which also
short out over time if this is not repaired.

joelb79 says:

Those are mechanics and not technicians.

awillems01 says:

Where can I find this part, they didn’t have it or know what I was looking
for at my local autozone

Mickey Breda says:

That was exactly the problem with my 05 Impala, what a simple fix, thanks

my 05 Grand Prix (same design flaw)

right on. You saved me a lot of money!

Javon Ingram says:

Did any body have water in the back passenger side floor?????? Please help

rlphbgby says:

If you haven’t found out yet it’s your heater core.

Steve Cogar says:

@n2deepjds i did i called them with the part number and im going tomorrow
to get the deflector.

juan773 says:

It worked! Thanks man. I also removed the front passenger seat and squeezed
all the water out of the bottom carpet that had sucked up some water, wiped
it dry with towels. The water corroded my power wires that run to my
factory amp but now everything is good.

jose susana says:

i have no idea bro, I’m not a mechanic. I’m sorry i can’t help you with
that. maybe a forum can help you out more.

T Dee says:

and spray some mold eliminating Lysol spray in there to clear it up if need

hector v says:

jose susana says:

Lmaooo , now u can swim and drive at the same time. But seriously, the
deflector will take care of the problem.

pau d says:

where can i buy this part?

SgtPickledic says:

My impala had this issue. The seal likes to come off when taking your car
threw a Car wash with Hi pressure blowers that dry your car.. I quickly
fixed with some Non smelling RTV. If you do get water in your Vehicle, it
is strongly advised to take your carpet out of your vehicle and properly
dry it, there is about 4 inches thick of foam matting under the carpet that
will cause mold and bad odor threw your vents that runs under the carpet if
not dried properly.

Richard Shaw says:

I believe this is the problem I am having with my 2004 Malibu I have taken
it to the local Chevy house and they could not find the problem I have two
questions first did you have to remove the wiper arms secondly are there
deflector shields for both sides my drivers side is were the water is
puddling thank you for posting this

Javon Ingram says:

Is that the only way the water can get in

DEMONlCO says:

Thanks man. I’ve been dealing with this leak for almost a year. Searched
everywhere and couldn’t find it. Today I called my local Chevy parts
department, gave them the part # provided, and they have it. Only $5!!!!!
WOW! Thanks for the info dude!!!!!!

Jcbklyn21 says:

Sorry for the double post, what I was saying was after a couple water
specialist looking at the car you figured out what they couldn’t . I’m
gonna blog my results , photos and the link to your video cause your a
genius . You should fill out the YouTube form say the can add
advertisements to your video and you’ll get paid after some views and it
would be well deserved. Thank again

Jae says:

Since you put this part on, have you had any issues with water since?

zach55555555 says:

Thanks so much for posting this!! I have a ’05 pontiac grand prix, I got
that part from my local GM dealer and sure enough it works!! Now just have
to finish drying out my carpet. The gasket was just laying on top of the
air cabin filter, which was all molded from water dripping into it, so I
replaced that also.

jose susana says:

Glad to help

jose susana says:

@moej657 Im not a mechanic but i dont think it would leak from the front
end of the car and drain into your trunk….maybe your trunk has a rubber
gasket that is wiped out….you should check to see if the gasket is
faulty, but honestly i have no idea….sorry i cant help you more.
