when i get my 1979 cadillac coupe deville, im gonna need to replace the 8
track with a cd or tape player for ipod hookup. i dont want to have to put
an antenna on the windshield, could i still have it on the power antenna?
instead of cutting wires i would of went with the aftermarket harness that
plugs in to the stock harness it’s easier and alot better than splicing but
they are a little expensive
i am trying to dismember my 99 1980 oldsmobile and i could not understand
how to figure out the size of the bolts, should i just use an adjustable
wrench or what?
I just watched your view of how to replace an OE Cadillac 8 Track with a CD
player. Do you still have the old 8 Track Cadillac unit. I would be
interested. Thanks
no need for a power ant. On this video our clients factory power ant. Was
not working so we opted for a 20.00 instead of fixing the factory one.
F.Y.I if you install a aftermarket radio you will need to hook up the
factory power antenna to power.
Yes you can keep the factory antenna, but you will need to use a relay.
Because this old cadi has a double switch antenna so the power swicthes for
up and down. This client did not want to fix the broken power antenna at
the tune of 150 bucks. So we did the tape antenna for about 20 bucks. So I
hope that helps electric relay can be tough to install so you might want to
get the cd player installed by a technication.F.Y.I. Good luck!!
some of my clients are cheap and don’t want to pay extra $ for more wires.
i showed how to hard wire this stereo because that what my subs were asking
for . Sorry if i had a choice and this was my car i would have done it with
a wire harness.
ive got an 84 deville that im about to install a head unit in and was
wondering…is it necessary to install the power antenna? or could i get
away with using the original one?

I would rather go the other way around. Rip out the CD junk and replace the
8 track deck!

To go from a 8 track from the 70’s to a CD player in the year 2000
something has got to give right?
