SCOT FRIEDMAN says:

how do you replace anderson window?

dolphinsc1 says:

Excellent video. But
Safety First.
Great price for clear glass, not sure in your area of the nation it would
meet local codes.
Also there is a Serious Danger Factor when separating the two pieces of
glass and replacing only one side, the broken glass side, that is of course
the most dangerous, but even replacing the broken glass in itself is a
dangerous job.
The vinyl welded corners can be cut apart with a razor knife, after repair
and the glazing has been reinstalled, and much like caulk is used, use
liquid vinyl to fill-in the corner gaps in the glazing.
“Note” when replacing the glass be sure and not bump the corner of the
replacement glass on ANY hard surface it will instantly break the
glass….the corner of the double pane window glass is the weakest point
and it will break instantly upon contact of a hard surface.
Be Safe.

Thanks for the information, Danny. I have 7 windows to repair and I’m not
sure what I have with my Simonton double hung windows…..Can you explain
the difference between a replacement IG unit and a replacement window with
gas infused? Wouldn’t a simply double paned IG unit fog up or get moisture
inside without the gas added to it? Thanks for your time.

Jimmer Fisk says:

Big help! Thanks.

Carter Knight says:

Per my post below, the windows are vinyl double hung made by Simonton.

pepsi40 says:

I popped out the IGU easily, thank you, great vid. Can i just order IGU’s
online by size to be shipped to my home, or will i need to visit a
local glass mfgr?

martywme says:

You make putting that window back in look so easy. I was able to get the
window out OK, using the method you used, but getting the window back in
was another story. I thought it would be the reverse, but while I get the
first keeper in, that second side just won’t go in. Is there a trick, are
the left and right sides different?

Edward Adams says:

That was a good video. Thanks.

runantelldat says:

Awesome video. One question I have an older double pane where the upper
portion of the window just cracked this winter on the inside. The problem
is the upper portion does not come out like the ones in your vid, how would
you work that Thanks.

SRC Maryland says:

Danny, thanks so much for this great video. I was able to remove the IGUO
and measure it.

The problem I’m having is finding a supplier. I called some local glass
shops and they are quoting me anywhere from $104 to $145 for the IGU, size
29″ x 34″ at 3/4 ” thick. I thought the price would be more like $50. Are
you aware of a supplier who will ship at a reasonable cost? Thanks

James Winder says:

Great video! Thanks so much for making this, it really helps us novices!
