I have a heater problem the core has been flushed twice, have had heat for
a couple of days on each flush, but then same issue has returned.. only
blows cold air and no heat.. By the way its a singe core heating system on
a 94 Jeep GC

Lisa Payne says:

I am a female and do most of the work on my car myself, been doing it for
years. Anyway, my problem is, its my first time living in the snow and I
guess I did not have any anti-freeze in my car and the lines leading to the
overflow tank have froze and the car overheated. There is a serious leak
behind the motor, but not against the firewall and car still overheats.
Could this be a freeze plug issue? Engine was surging, overheated, cooled
off, ran fine about 2 blocks and it was obvious there was no fluid going
through cooling system….HELP!!!! need to fix a.s.a.p. go to go to work….
Thank you…

ky09 says:

Changed my lower radiator hose. Drove it to work fine and the next day it
started to overheat and I couldn’t get any heat. I filled the radiator back
up after work and let it run. The temp needle moved to its normal spot in
between the 1/4 and 1/2 mark. I let the car run for 20min with the cap off
and thought I was good but still no heat inside and the car does not
overheat anymore. I don’t know what else to do? Any suggestions?

Michael Jervinsky says:

Hello, that was very helpful. I have a question for you please. Just
purchased a 1998 Nissan Altima GXE. I believe the engine thermostat does it
work, even when driving for over 15 mins the needle still stands at COLD.
The heater blower works but there is no hot air coming out. Do I need to
replace the thermostat and bleed my coolant system system? Any and all
input is appreciated. Thank you.

Brandon Smisek says:

Bravo !!! I think this will fix my problem. Thank You Sir.

d shook says:

How would u do this I’f ur vehicle don’t have the bleeder value or you
can’t find it. It is a 2002 dodge ram 1500 with 5.9

Twiztidguy says:

anyone know where the bleeder is on a 94 f150 4.9 Liter?

mvortex1 says:

Thanks, I now have heat but I cant see a dam thing going down the road with
the hood open like that…

buffingmetal says:

my car is a fiat 500 1.1 lt engine no air con, anyway its not heating the
car, it has a coolant tank but no radiator cap on the rad, it has two bleed
screws one for the heater and one for the rad. I use the car for going to
work, also there is no bubbles in the system. What do you think might be
problem

Daniel Turnbow says:

Eric my 2000 civic ex has no bleeder bolt! How do I purge air out? Stay
dirty brother

TheYzeman says:

I flushed the radiator and engine block with a hose (removed the thermostat
to back flush) and installed a new thermostat. I followed this procedure
to the letter. I have just one question. Why did my Chevy Lumina fill up
at only 6 quarts of coolant/water when the manual says – capacity 11.6 qts?

mietekkln says:

That is so helpful ! I had replaced water pump & timing belt about 3 weeks
ago and since that time i have problem with heating… I”m gonna try ur
method tomorrow and I’m 99% that this is it :))

urmastertech says:

I have the same accord well a 96 Ex, but wow I am going to flush the
cooling in mine because I think it just is running hot and it needs a
refill, but after I will definitely use this video to bleed the system.
Thanks so much! I have always wondering what that noise is when I start my
car. I thought it was like a air compressor or something to level the car
out, but I guess its the ABS pump. I am not sure if you have done a video
on this before, but my accord’s gauge cluster’s shift lights don’t light up
and if those don’t then I am not sure even if the rest of them work. Also
the gas gauge stays at full (I will eventually test the floater thing)
which isn’t that big of a deal since I just look at how many miles, but it
would be nice to have that working too. Wow woops I just rambled a lot lol,
its almost 5am, that’s probably why. Anyway if you do answer awesome, if
not its okay lol I will look around, its just I have, but never found
anything about like why the shift lights and possibly the other warning
lights besides seat belt I think dont work. Thanks and keep up the great
work! :D

I used an air lift tool on my Honda do I still need to bleed the system ?
I replaced the thermostat with the 190 one…
I have a hunting idle but not all the time…. it runs rough until it
gets around 1000rpm…. I replace the cap wire rotor and plugs…and still
the same issue..

What if I have two bleeder screws? Open them both? (GM 3100 SFI V6)

jesse gibson says:

Did this on my 93 chevy K1500 and i ended up with a massive boiling coolant
geyser, and the temp shot into the red… Any suggestions as to what
happened?

Jack Myers says:

Eric, HELP, please,,, ok 2000, G M 3400, overheating & no heat, seems like
the water is not moving out of the radiator, changed the thermostat,
flushed the radiator, checked the water pump looked good, does not smoke,
no oil in the water, nice & clean, when it gets hot the right radiator hose
is hot & the rad. cap & left hose is cold, & no heat from the heater, but
it looks like they omitted the heater core, will check on that, but any
info you can give will be great, thanks, Jack

TheJunior773 says:

So my car heater blows cold air .
I already changed thermostat and I also did coolant flush but it still
blows cold air

It will only blow hot air if I step on the gas or when I’m driving but as
soon I stop at a red light or just be park it blows cold air.

My car is a 2002 Nissan Altima 4 cylinder 2.5 .

What could be the problem??

Jerry Parker says:

Eric, great video. I have a coolant system problem that I am trying to
diagnose. Just replaced the radiator. At first everything seem ok, but I
noticed small bubbles going into the reservoir while the engine is running.
The reservoir fills until it overflows the vent pipe. Is this symptoms of
an airlock or is it a head gasket? Thanks

Davienne Gordon-Ememodo says:

I have a 99 Volvo V70 GLT. I replaced the ETC sensor because it coded on
emmissions check and the fan was running all the time. It is working
properly now. Also replaced the thermostat, thought it would be wise to do
so. It’s driving me crazy purging the coolant out the overflow when it
reaches temperature. I have tried everything found online to get the air
out of the system, even took it to a specialty shop. They pressure checked
it, it was fine, even checked for blown head gasket, none. I have purchased
2 thermostats, though they look the same, and both operate the same. The
one I removed has one of the little toggle pins in it, but the new ones
don’t. I did see that you recommend not turning the fan on when trying to
bleed the air. If a Volvo has a bleeder valve I wouldn’t know where to find
it, but nothing online shows that it does. I literally have gone through 5
gallons of coolant and lots of water, as I got tired of loosing the
coolant, but this has me baffled. It was so bad today I kept stopping to
put let it cool and put more fluid in, just wanted to get home and not
drive it. Am supposed totake it back to shop on Monday. The radiator was
replaced a year and a half ago, and it finally bled. I had no problems
prior to replacing these parts. Any ideas???

eddie bogert says:

if you were to start up your car with radiator cap removed and coolant was
to real soon after start to gush out of the top of the radiator- could
that POSSIBLY be a result of air in the cooling system- this is happening
to me just recently replaced a lower air intake gasket and this is one
of the problems I am having along with possible vacuum leak, Thanks

David Mercado says:

Hey eric the car guy. I have a question for you. I have 93 civic ex. And
the problem I have is the fluid in the radiator is going back into the
resovior and flowing out of it. People telling me its the head gasket. But
the car is not mixing my oil or fluid. And my motor not shaken also it not
smoking white out the exhaust. I change the thermostat the hoses. The
radiator too. Any help please thank you. Keep up the good work with your
videos.

Rini Sugiarto says:

Hey Eric, my 2001 audi overflow line nipple snapped that goes to the
reserviour(top up radiator fluid) So now I blocked it with a screw on both
ends. Would this cause any problem??? or I should retapp a new barb
fittings so i can rejoin the overflow line back to the reserviour. Thanks

Jose Morales says:

Hello, Eric here is my situation I have a 02 dodge ram 1500 sport 4.7magnum
v8 engine and noticed that it was a little bit of a cooling fluid coming
from the thermostat, so I replaced it and oil changed. When I fill the
reservoid because is connected to the radiator, and it no additional cap. I
ran the engine and it was fine, but when I run it on the expressway it
started to overhead to the maximum, I pull over let it sit for a bit 1hr.
And started again to make it home 5 minutes away. What is your suggestions
and how can I tell that the radiator is full? ALSO REPLACE THE LOWER HOSE
AND CLAMP.

heating and no hot air inside

crackermoves says:

Hey Eric Great Video.. Is there any drawbacks to using a 7lb radiator cap
instead of a 16?? I have a small coolant leak and it makes it leak less for
the time being because the coolant pressure doesn’t build up as much
pressure in the radiator .. Thanks :-)

Shamarra Williams says:

My heat is blowing luke warm so i put water in the coolant resv tank. Then

does a 02 CRV have that bleeder screw?

jacraig881 says:

I’ve got an 03 dodge ram (there is my problem lol) heat has never worked
but never needed it until now, the heater core is very clogged I confirmed
that, what can I do if only a tiny bit of fluid runs through it, I’ve tried
the air compressor trick to no avail! Plz help what cleaner can I run
through it.

Michael Garboski says:

at 5:10, you say that you’re going to top it off. When do you know to stop
