I think everybody needs to listen to this song:
EW! Put that fucking make-up back on you all look butt ugly! How is this
even inspirational? People not trying? WOW! I guess it fine to go to school
looking like crap then! Nice message!
Look away, because I have some criticisms.
1. Inspirational songs that don’t have a fourth wall will inevitably come
off as pandering.
2. The chord structure of this song is incredibly cliche, and the tone
comes off as sappy.
3. The message of this song is horribly confused at times, and it’s
completely harmful at others. Much of this coming from “You don’t have to
try,” messages of ignoring criticism, and not getting to the real issue
this “you” is facing.
4. This song would have been better if it were about not losing one’s own
dignity and self respect while trying to impress the guys.
This is just another feelgood song that has the facade of meaning.
I’ll take mindless garbage over poorly written, pretentious, feelgood
songs, but a good, well meaning song will always trump them all.

I always put make up on my face just to make others “like me”.
It’s like a comforting song.. Mostly girls who will understand…
Idiots bash substance and praise garbage. This song has meaning. Its not

Yeah don’t try to improve yourself or be attractive. Just be fat, lazy and
don’t even put make up on. What a good idea. I’m sure guys will want to
date you then. LOL.
Love this song, and love this video, awesome! I learned after years of
watching the reality show “Survivor” that after seeing the women on the
show with out make up for those 40 days, then they come back to the studio
for the last show, all made up, hair fixed, and I understood then, they
looked so beautiful all natural when out with out make up and hair fixed.
Natural is a beautiful look, and when I see a woman not wearing make up, or
wearing very very little, I think she is beautiful.
Okay, this is SUPER sweet and inspiring but it really weirds me out when
people take of large chunks or all of their hair…
whats important is that you feel good with yourself. and its beautifull to
hear that appearances don’t count. But the fact is: it realy does. Socialy,
economicaly, Politicaly, *Nobody* wants to ”look bad”. That is.. the
‘idea’ that the Marketing creates to make people think what is ”look
good” or ”’look bad”. Speeches, Parties, Advertisements, they always
link their product with happiness, good health and sucess in life. In the
end, our oppinion about appearances are based in what the Marketing
decides, even the culture.

It’s crazy how in two months this video only got 23+ million views. That’s
it. Why doesn’t this have more, when it obviously should. Is it cause she’s
not naked nor twerking or doing something really idiotic? This is such an
empowering song with such a beautiful message.
I don’t know how many dudes agree with me here, but this is what I believe:
Nothing is more beautiful than a genuine smile from a girl who is happy
being herself and doesn’t need to stack 5 layers of make up on her face or
change her appearance any other way. The media poisons the minds and gives
people a skewed perception of what beauty really is, for both males and
females.
