can be 8 hours on a normal car to replace the evap core or heater core,
basicly gotta get HVAC system out, on this car its about the ame labor
wise’s, so to me no diff cept just rust to dealwith
Does this method also apply to a 98 Cadillac Deville? Not 100% positive if
that is the problem I am having but its a good possibility. I would not
know until I get the cover off. I have the hose that runs along the fire
wall down to the evap but wanted to get input on it first. It is too hot
here in Texas to be outside going back and forth upstairs to my apartment
to get info. Rather get it now. 🙂
Holy shit.
What a bad design and it makes the repair so difficult. GM should really
fire their engineers or uses parts will never brake. This really stops me
from buying a GM motor. Great video!
whats the book time on that? 10-12 hrs? i have a freind that said he
possibly needs that done? i told him better make sure its not your heater
core .. the florr was wet and slimmy under the floor mat on the passenger
side .. can the heater core be done from inside or is it the same
operation??
Ah good old northstar engines. Such a pain in the ass to do. I find weird
that the starter is located inside the engine just under the intake
manifold.
That car will never be the same.
I like ur creeper as a dolliey lmao
@poching0521 – I own a Cadillac Eldorado and they are beautiful cars, but a
mechanical nightmare to work on. To replace the oil pan gasket, you have
*to remove the engine from the car*! GM had better get their act together,
or they wont be in business much longer.
It seems easier to drop the cradle than it is to remove the dash piece by
piece, yes? At least for a mechanic with proper equipment. Mercedes-Benzes
require the interior to come apart to access the evaporator but from what I
understand, the fitment and tightness is never the same afterward, prone to
creaking and rattling.
only cadillac would do this. i would have recommended changing that blower
cuz it looks like engine removal is required for that too lol CHA CHING!
This car would make a great winter beater, problem solved.
OMG…….I’m just speechless,How much does this lob pay?
Dont know about trying this job but I’m all jacked just from watching this
vid!
@Drew927 Yes those do suck to do stupid design like most GM’s
damn
God, I love having an old F-150…everything in the stupid old truck can be
accessed easily.
snap on can u warrenty my creeper
wow, I’ve seen some ass about elbow designs (mainly on french cars…) but
that takes the cake, who the hell though that was a good idea.. (probably
an accountant i guess)
@CooperLakeAutomotive All GM C/H body…up to 96….i know for sure
That wasnt too bad, you were able to do it in under 4 minutes. Good job. 🙂
my 95 cadillac deville need this and a the pump had a bad bearing, so after
a few years of it i decided it was time to sell it. needed a pwr steering
hose and air ride pump too
@lotitomj Thanks
This would be a nightmare in your driveway…
You have the drop the engine and transmission on thos car’s to do almost
everything, you can drop the engine, tranny and have it on jack stands in
2.5 hours, people say its a big job, but it isn’t that bad.
and the compressor too cuz’ it seems a bit cramped down ther’ too!! 3:59!!
any of you guys ever done a evap core in a 99-06 sierra? the passenger side
grib bar above the glove box is a bitch to get off
