Keep telling people that car manufacturers does this on purpose because they don't want us working on our cars, so the dealers can make more money. Or you buy a new car when you get the repair quote.
hahahahah! Love it! I would like to publicly state that if I EVER get close to the design engineers for these cars I will personally throttle them. I did get mine out without dropping anything (small hands) but having issues with stabbing it back in. Grrrrrrr! Maybe not holding my mouth right. :/ Good video. I needed a laugh!
Thanks for sharing this! I have a 2005 CTS-V as my DD and the starter died. Checked this video out and was able to change out the starter. Friend and I had to cut that one stud just like you did.. horrible design by Cadillac!
are the symptoms for the start going out similar to a bad ECM? currently trying to figure out why the CTS isn't starting and everywhere online points to a bad ECM. Initial the car would not start after it was driven for a while then once it was left sitting it would fire back up. now it won't start at all. and also the key would get locked in the ignition.
What Starter did you use for the replacement?
