1. you dont need the motor to be warm to check your oil
2. if you have to much oil in your motor drain it… may cause your motor to seize
3. dont listen to kids on youtube for car information… you might regret it.

I like this video it was informative on how to check fluids on the Northstar engine. I didn’t find anything wrong with what the videographer said about the fluids on a case by case basis.

because at the 2:50 mark i said that i used prestone DEX-COOL GM approved coolant… and it’s orange…

Actually you’re supposed to use DEX-COOL (red) fluid. Using any other could damage gaskets and eventually lead to water coming in to the cylinders.
