joe dapper says:

Did this ever get figured out, i have this problem at about 3500-4000 in a
2000 lesabre. Im unemployed and cant keep throwing money at this car. If i
could get the damn thing running, it will open up job opportunities in
nearby cities. The neutral save never works for me. 🙁

Eugene Hicks says:

I have a 95 regal 3.8 same problem knock sensor its above the start its
round screws into the block has one wire

mario myers says:

Eric Gillean says:

My 95 Buick running same way sounds just like that when I rev it.
Definitely would like to know how that turned out please.

Bob M. Tyranny Destroyer says:

Fuel Filter?

leadfoot driver says:

not much experience with those engines. egr maybe. we had a honda that
would not idle , it would hunt.. turns out the egr would be dirty, clean it
and it would run fine.

fred gilbert says:

mass air flow sensor and or tempsensor

NaplesSwampRat says:

might be shocked to find out its just a fuel pump

Jon Richardson says:

I have a 97 lesabre that’s doing the same exact thing your lesabre is
doing!! My check engine lite is on because of the MAF and O2 Sensor. I may
medina video of my car idling the same way. The only difference is my car
shuts down sometimes and restarts or sometimes it acts like it wants to
shut off but it doesn’t! Of these comments are helping me find out what’s
wrong with My car

TheOutlawVideoSS says:

That what Lew said new fuel pump went into it today and filter and still
runs like this

NoTymEnt11 says:

I got a 95 lesabre & it dies while i drive sometimes & wont start bak up
sometimes take hrs sometimes any ideas it dont show check engine light

Eric Ames says:

Don’t buy too many parts before you consider a computer.

Kenny Lear says:

all these damn senors in new cars, sounds like the TPS

Mr4x4mudder says:

could be the crank bearings

cwk1981 says:

check the mass air flow sensor along with the igntion module.

moparguy92 says:

did u buy that house ?

Calvin Loe says:

My did similar things, tried this tried that finally tried something call
Dielectric Connector Grease and it cured my problems.. Put it on all your
sensor plugs to improve electricity flow.

Tommy Donley says:

Mass Air Flow sensor replace it Lesabre have common types of MAF problems

dkhill27 says:

No problem man. Hope it helps

dooformuladlx says:

sound like the throttle positioning sensor (TPS) .

Jon Richardson says:

Hey I replace my crank sensor and my Lesabre is running fine!!

306foxbody says:

sounds like tps sensor..but run some codes it will tell you

nORTHERN sAVAGE says:

Symptoms of a Defective Throttle Position Sensor Following is a list of
symptoms, either of or a combination of which, a car driver may experience
because of a defective throttle position sensor: Bucking and jerking of the
car Idle surging Sudden stalling of the car engine Hesitation while the
driver of the car is trying to accelerate Sudden surge in car’s speed while
driving on the highway

Brandon Bigfeather says:

Maf from what it seems like to me

D4x4Bronc says:

intake gasket is known to go bad on the 3.8s. also the intake can crack.

carledward1968 says:

Mass airflow sensor If you haven’t fix it yet. My 1998 bonnieville did the
same thing and that fixed the problem

Brian Adam says:

mass air /O2

The Beige Wonder says:

did yall it her fixed????

blake burks says:

either TPS, or its overloading….fill it up and put some injection cleaner
in it and see what happens, if it runs the slightest little bit better
check all the injectors (it could have a burnt injector if the injector
cleaner dont work

rufus184201 says:

Camshaft position censor.and check the lines to the motor make sure their
not burnt.I say change that.

montemania198210 says:

maf is bad try to clean it first

kinkfreebird96 says:

it might be the mass air flow sensor, crc sells a spray cleaner for mass air
flow sensor’s!!

Chris090883 says:

Before you replace the TPS try cleaning the thing, alot of time those get
some black crap on it and it can throw it out of wack.

leadfoot driver says:

dude i know says idle air control. not egr. car would get that part dirty.
would not idle for shit. clean it and it would run great.

Noemi Perez says:

I have a 99 le sabre that it used to do that, while running used to die on
me, its the sensor that it shows the letters abc on the video that sensor I
paid $200 at autozone a couple of yrs ago, problem fix after that.

DemonicTrickster says:

add me man…sendin u a friend request now

Charles Trubl says:

just thinking…if it lacks a lot of power it could be a stuck EGR
valve…they are expensive, you could take it off and clean it first with
carb spray and a wire brush!

Travis Slone says:

Check the fuel pressure regulator. Sounds similar to a car I’ve worked on.
It’ll idle just fine hit the throttle and it’d start flooding, let off it’d
die. Same thing with driving, get to a stop after driving a few mile and
it’d die instantly. Pop it in neutral and start it back up (it sometimes
took a few secs to fire it up). Check the throttle position sensor too just
in case, but I’m leaning towards the first one.

jh de haan says:

check The coil my toyota starlet 1991 had the same problem and it was a
automatic

TheMotor13 says:

maf sensor!!

nothadnotbad says:

drive it into a lake and buy a chevy from the early 80s. problem solved.

honz fixit says:

lower manifold leak??? just a guess. cuz it sounds like vacumm leak
somewhere..

wtbm123 says:

I would clean maf. You can check the TPS with a analog multimeter. If you
could get a hold of a scan tool with live data it would help a lot.

carrabec99 says:

tps or crank sensor had a friend that had a buick that had a crank sensor
problem that would cause it not to restart but try the tps first then crank
sensor

matt39914 says:

My 95 lesabre is doing the same thing, dies while driving and does start
back up. It has been at the mechanics for the past month. We have changed
the computer, checked the fuel pump and all the wiring with no luck. Has
anybody had any luck with this problem yet?

traxxluver says:

Also if it’s ever been over heated those are known to warp or crack the
intake because it’s plastic

dkhill27 says:

I have a GAGT with a 3.4 same kinda engine you got there but smaller.
Sounds to me like a TPS when in park start it and press the gas and watch
the revs. If it bounces around 4 k thats the rev limiter if it bounces
before 4k like 2k something its TPS. Another way to find out drive it and
get it up to 20mph and put it in nutural and hit the gas if it goes past 5k
its not the TPS. Then it would sound more like a MAF sensor or crank
sensor. But im willing to bet its the TPS

Harleyman440 says:

sounds like the tps to me

SteveKnipp84 says:

Had similar issue , it was my computer . Computer was sending trans into
default 3rd gear and would cause the whole engine to shake violently when
accelerating till you reached about 25-30 mph.
