I once brought an old vw beetle engine to a machine shop to have a look at
it,with less compression than a bicycle pump. His words of wisdom were at
the time which went 10 miles over my head “There’s a lot of things found in
ditches which should be left there”To climb any sort of decent hill, you
would need a run of about
2 miles at full speed and hope to the Lord there was no one to overtake on
the ascent. We had bought the car on Xmas eve on a drinking session with my
brother and his friend. The car had no exhaust and the noise of a vw beetle
was deafening. That was my first car. There is more but some other time.

Will the ECU go into limp mode if you unplug the MAF?
