Very common problem with 00-05 Monte Carlos too. Multi function switch

Gilweb says:

Great video! This worked like a charm for me. $90 part and another $30 in tools I didn’t have, but lights working again and the high beams stay on now! Took just over an hour for me. Trickiest part was the bolt in the harness…just tricky to get the right position to unscrew it.

One commenter already mention this but to get the top cover off the steering wheel there’s a MALE torx bolt holding it on just “behind” the ignition assembly. I noticed after rewatching yours that you had broken that off lol. I purchased a set of torx female 1/4 inch sockets and with a short extension this bolt is easy to get off and probably helps not breaking the “hooks” on the casing.

Recommend watching in full first. Good advice about disconnecting the battery in there Lol.

Thanks again! Mine was a 2000 Buick Regal btw

What if one side is dim?

Charles McClure says:

When you pulled back on the turn signal (high beam flash) did the head lights come on?

That function still works for me but the headlights do not come on when I pull my knob

Green thumb says:

That hex head behind steering wheel, I got with hex head socket and 1/4 wrench turning it on hex portion. Workef

Great video. Just changed switch in a 2004 Regal LS. Never could have done this without your video. Thank you.

Mr Freeze says:

My 02 buick high beams work but the low beams dont. Is this the issue?

I own a 2002 Regal LS with the dark grey interior I’ve owned it for almost a year and when I bought it car only had 79,000km

I firmly believe they use those crappy plastic clips to you break it. Hence you have to replace it or you can be ghetto and just not put it back.

Jody Grigg says:

Very much enjoyed your video. You were detailed, and told me the size bolts/star wrenches I'll need. Always appreciated. Thank you for doing this.
