Did u use the adapter tool to install the seal?. Try applying some sealer to the outer steel lip of the seal. Also check cor the spring on the seal inner lip. If the seal is install twisted it will leak.

Rodney Smith says:

I hammered one in but its still dipping.

gerbilkill says:

hey bro good vid. , i was wondering i bought the hd upgrade . can i do the install without pulling the motor?

SteveXnycperformance says:

Not nessary, but some fluid might drain out when the seal is remove. its alway best to check transmission fluid level when it is at operational temperature.

John1013 says:

Do you have to drain the fluid before you do this?

BlaineDownforit says:

Actually the 2003-04 has a different trans sub code. It is still 4t65-e but 03-04 has something different with the valve body somehow. I think, buy I’m not sure- that once the valve body cover is taken off the metal gasket has to be replaced every time.

SteveXnycperformance says:

The Limited Slip differental Might be faulty or its support bearing Might be failing.

I have a 2003 chevy cavalier that is leaking transmission fluid from the pan as well as from the right front axle..I took it to my mechanic and he said I do have a gasket leak but he couldnt fix the axle leak because the axle is loose and that it had to be something in the transmission (housing) where the axle goes into it.. Do you have any ideas on what it could be?

SteveXnycperformance says:

The differential can be swap over by removing the four bolts on Differential cover.i did not get you question.what was the reason for the trans replacement? If the spline on the axle look different ,it will not fit at all.The S/C and Non S/C use the same axle,so it might be a fitting issue.

Hussle Man says:

Hi I have a question I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix no supercharge I just replace the Trans but now the passenger side axle has play when I put it in the Trans the groves looks different

SteveXnycperformance says:

yea, or the tie rod can be disconnected to flip the spindle in the other direction.

Thank you for the insight.

fastgt1 says:

Nice to see the spindle hanging by the brake line. Use mechanics wire or in your case a coat hanger to support the weight instead of the hydraulic line.

Xtimbers1 says:

Thanks You are good.

SteveXnycperformance says:

Yes, replace both side axle seal and the converter pump seal. Also service the transmission with a flush and filter cleaning.

LEOSOUNDS1 says:

Hi I just bought a used transmission from a junk yard.its for my 2004 Chevy impala… I’m having it installed Monday… should I buy new seal for both sides?

SteveXnycperformance says:

The 4T65E transmission comes with two different gear ratio. Supercharge transmission is a different gear ratio when compare to the non-supercharge. yes a 2000 yr 4T65E will bolt up to a 2003 3800 series II impala engine.

WWBZT1 says:

is it possible to drop a 4T65E on a 2000 – 2003 Impala to remove the side cover, with out removing the trans.
