How to Replace Rear Brakes and Rotors Buick Regal

This video goes over how to replace rear brakes and rotors on a 2011 Buick Regal with a 2.4 motor. This should be the same process for any 2011-2017 Buick Regal. Depending on your driving conditions and habits, rear brakes usually last longer than front brakes. Since braking is extremely important to a vehicle, it’s a good idea to use at least a mid grade pad or better. These have a tendency to last longer, perform better and have less brake dust. It’s a good idea to purchase quality rotors as well. They have a protective coating and are guaranteed for two years against warping. These provide better efficiency breaking and heat dissipation, while controlling noise vibration and have less chance of failure. It’s VERY IMPORTANT to pump your brakes several times until normal brake pressure returns. This is required to push the piston back out until the pads contact the rotor. There shouldn’t be a need to bleed the brake system using this method.

Hello. Recently had an all around brake service on my 2011. The L, R began to leak from the seal. The mechanic stated that the wrong rotors were used because the pads extended about 1/4in beyond the rotor and may have caused the failure of the caliper. Is this possible?
