The crankshaft position sensor is an important component of any electronically controlled ignition system. The sensor provides the computer with data about the position of the crank shaft to properly adjust ignition timing. If the sensor in your vehicle is broken or malfunctioning, you may suffer poor performance, or get a check engine light. This video shows you how to install a new crankshaft position sensor on your 2000-2005 Buick LaSabre.

What is the reason for replacing the sensor?

Trent Grimes says:

What kind of torque is needed to remove the crankshaft bolt?

Jerry Burleson says:

I think I could probably do this procedure. I do not have a scan tool though. I notice you mentioned a possible re-learn procedure with a scanner. I know its hard to predict but what is the likely hood that the re-learn procedure must be done. Think this will determine whether or not I attempt this or not. And these videos are so helpful. Modern cars are wonderful but I don't think the engineers of them took into consideration that it would be a bunch of amateur backyard Gomer Pyle's trying to fix them .

Fantastic!!

What is the proper relearn procedure ?
If infact necessary?
