KeAndre' Freeman says:

I've changed a pulley, serpentine belt, brakes, wheel speed sensor, & put on a whole new passenger door on my Park Ave. Changing the damn cabin filter was the most time consuming.. & a broke the 3rd piece so I had to purchase another whole filter. & My ribs are bruised from reaching under the unit. It was worth it tho now I can breath in fresh particle-free chilled air. Thanks for the video.

kermitefrog64 says:

From my earlier comment it was time to replace the cabin air filter. It has been a year. I replaced it yesterday with all the scrapes and biting my tongue and having words with the unseen GM engineer who came up with this nightmare.

wonfeather says:

I found it easier to install if you spray some lube on the tracks and inside the housing and turn your blower on high so when you push up on the filter to install the next one it won't fall.

Al Mackie says:

See they didn't put the filter back in the car cause it's hard af when u r a wide guy like myself, n I'm still trying to put mine in

Yarumiandt7 says:

Whoever designed this deserves a slow and painful death

Ильдар Акберов says:

It was very hard and took me an hour and I tore one filter while installing and peeled the skin on my right hand, but in the end I did it. Thank you for the video

Bryan Burns says:

My park avenue is 2004

Bryan Burns says:

How do you get the carpet pulled back to remove the cover for it on a park avenue?

COOLBREEZZy 87 says:

I wonder is This where the water is coming out of when it rain. I don’t have that cover.

Dan Hazen says:

I was thinking why not put a flexible foam filter or carbon filter that is commonly used on home in window AC units for filtering the air. I bet this would be a lot easier to install.

kermitefrog64 says:

By the way since you show the filter housing taken out of the car is there an easy way to do this otherwise it is a fight to get the filters into the filter housing when in the car. Taking out the filters is one thing but putting back in is where you fight to get the filters in. The plastic has to be bent to get around the gas pedal and you can't get the filter in straight because there is a metal piece just left of the gas pedal which prevents the filter from going in straight.

kermitefrog64 says:

This is the same on replacing the water pump on this engine. It is like the engineer figured that he did not have to work on it so lets make it as difficult as possible. I could change out the water pump in my old Chevy Lumina and change the serpentine belt under 30 minutes. On the Buick 3.8 you had to loosen up the power steering pump and take off hoses and a lot of other items just to get into it. And replacing the serpentine belt is another nightmare. It goes around the engine mount. Why do they make so many jobs so complicated. And here is another part that has had to be replaced many times and that is the plastic intake manifold. What a piece of junk. Plastic! Really GM.

kermitefrog64 says:

The engineer who came up with this air filter must have come from an insane asylum. The is one horrible job. Even after taking out the duct work there still is not enough room and the plastic on the filter kept breaking. This was a nightmare of a job.

kermitefrog64 says:

I found out that some mechanic had taken out the cabin filter and did not replace it.

Theresa Poarch says:

where is the cabin air filter on a 1988 Buick Electra Park avenue?

Marquis Jackson says:

How do I remove that whole cabin area?

As I was trying to remove the filter the tab that you pull broke. Help! 98 Buick Park Avenue Ultra

gk10002000 says:

so does a 1997 buick le sabre have one of these? I get conflicting answers. One site looks like it does. Others say the le sabre did not get them until 2000 and then they were under the hood in the cowl under the wipers. This video shows a 1998 Park Avenue, and the Show me says AQ1032 filter fits:
Buick Park Avenue 1997-2005. Maybe some 1997 le sabres had them and others did not? Model changes during the year and what not

gk10002000 says:

gee, I thought the cabin filter was up on the passenger side under the hood just below the wipers

Jason Mankey says:

Question….does the 1996 Park Avenue have one of these? If so, is it located on the passenger or drivers side? I did not notice that last info on the video.

Effen Fish says:

it was mulch in the filter compartment, and the cheap filter i put in forever ago came apart. this video helped a lot!

Jake Mcmillian says:

Thank you so much for posting this. I work at a shop, mostly in the parts department and service writing areas, but I occasionally do small jobs on vehicles. I have also done everything I have the ability to do on my own cars in my driveway. I have changed a lot of cabin air filters (it takes me 45 seconds in my 04 corolla) but this job had me scratching my head, and swearing nasty things about GM. Changing this filter would be about as difficult as an engine swap in a 92 Geo Metro if it wasn't for this helpful video.

Brad King says:

This is a great help vid, but GM enginer needs to drink more coffee in the am before designing this AGAIN on another vehicle. WAKE UP GM! Changed fan motor out in 5 mins and 30 to change the filters. Thanks again to ya Filterheads fer the great vid.

ZeeboLaywicker says:

i just took mine out and put the door back on. too much hassle and my hands were all cut up.

Ron S says:

Thanks for the help so I could locate and remove the filter on my 2004 Seville. I noticed you didn't show the re-install on the car, but on a housing outside the car. The filters need to be kept straight to slide them together, virtually impossible with the gas pedal still connected. If you want to read some posts about peoples struggles with getting the new one installed, google Cadillac Forums and enter cabin air filter Seville. Many people suggest not putting a new one in if you keep your car garaged. If you do insist on having the filter, one person writes you will need "the body of a contortionist and the patience of a saint"
