If you follow the video you should be fine. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
I thought with ABS breaks you can’t just push the piston in. I have a 2003 Regal with ABS should I do it differently than you demonstrated in the video?
Yet another great how to video. Thank you for posting this.
If you follow the video you should be fine.
Thank you very much for doing this. I have changed brakes before, but it’s good to see this. Not all brakes are as easy to change. You did not mention anything about greasing where the pads go in. Should we be doing that? Anyway, this is a great video.
Thanks for watching. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Could you please name every tool used in this video, not just the hand tools but also the power tools? I’m sorry, I don’t know anything about them but want to learn. It’s hard to do that because I don’t know what their names are so I can do an internet search to learn more about them. Thanks.
Oh. Never mind. Sorry. I couldn’t hear him naming that first power tool, the lug nut remover. I think it was a connection issue.
very helpful video! I will be changing my brakes and rotors myself now!!! Too easy!

I was taught to open the master cylinder before compressing the piston. Is this necessary?
thank you! many blessings to you and 1AAuto for looking out for the little guy
Wow great video. This was very helpful.
Wow great video. This was very helpful.
We currently do not have an auto repair video for that particular repair. We’ll keep this request in mind in the event that we need to make this repair in the future.
Can you post videos detailing break line replacement for 1997-2005 buick century?
Yes it’s very important to pump the break pedal back up.
Funny he mentions pump the brakes before using them, when I was a kid my dad forgot to do this, ended up putting the car in revurse and took off on him and ended up running over one of my moms favorite bushes in the yard. To this day that bush still doesnt grow right lol.
good, thanks!
It’s a torque wrench. It will help you to torque the bolts down correctly.
what kind of wrench did u use in this video?
Great video.
Thanks for the info.
You can compress the caliper, quickly and easily, after removing the spider bolts [as you say] by using two C-clamps over the spider bolt holes and the opposite end of the caliper.
only for cahngein calibers i believe
ty for the info.
You do not have to bleed the brake lines unless there is air in your system.
what about the bleeding?
excellent video =)
if you are changing both left and right front pads and rotors, you should check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir to make sure it’s not over the max level….and the same as you are compressing the brake piston on the other side, you’re bond to have an excess of brake fluid and may need to remove some with a syringe or something.
Don’t have that video specifically yet but we do have a video for rear brakes on Sunfire/Cavalier and 98 Chevy Venture. Between those two you will probably be covered.
DO U GUYS HAVE A VIDEO ON HOW TO CHANGE BACK BRAKES ON A 98 BUICK CENTURY??
it’s easier to remove the caliper if you compress it first with the clamp, while it’s all still put together. also less chance of messing up the caliper pot seal this way.
