If the car is overheating and no hot air is coming out of vents is it the
censor as well and would that chase the car itself to over heat?

SteveXnycperformance says:

yea, thats correct, go perform body work and painting it(car) in the hot
sun, see how you like it?.

KINGJAMESAKA007 says:

Never work on a hot car

SteveXnycperformance says:

The sensor socket may vary in size base on CTS part provider.it should be
between a 14-16mm deep(long) socket with a 3/8 ratchet attach. use care and
make sure engine is cold.

erichellrie89 says:

Very well explained, Thanks. Dont forget to check all coolant levels prior
to repair as well as after.

SteveXnycperformance says:

Try a cooling system flush. Inspect the thermostat for suface contamination
or replace. Make sure the fan shroud (tunnel) in still in postion to the
radiator. If all fail, replace the sensor for it be become poor and soon
malfuntion.

SteveXnycperformance says:

The engine is equip with 2 temp sensor, 1 for gauge,1 for ecm cooling fan.
have the check lite diagnose for codes, check coolant level, you might have
a bad temp sensor.

daniel berber says:

The oil cap was left off wtf

SteveXnycperformance says:

No the coolant spill will not affect any parts. but be-careful with pets
and other animals don`t drink the coolant of the floor. 🙂

GRude420 says:

158 degrees F.. lets take apart the cooling system. Nice.

Brian Cole says:

hey what did that fagget do man throw a snowball at you?

Mark1944089 says:

A great way to diagnosis car problems keep up the great work, also check
upper Radiator hose.

tonycl568 says:

thumb up for New York faggot 😀

SteveXnycperformance says:

look at this video in it four parts. /watch?v=0WxVeBoAkZg Replace the
radiator cap. If you have a aluminum rad with the plastic tank.please check
the radiator to plastic tank seal for leaks. If all fail.operate the engine
to 100 degree temperature(shut-off engine) .the cooling system can be
pressure check with the auto-zone radiator pressure tester kit 27065 rental
tool.Once the system is pressurize by the tool,it will become simple to
find the leak. Also check you rubber hoses and its clamps.

SteveXnycperformance says:

if you never service the cooling system. it is highly recommended to
perform a cooling system flush.this will clean any sludge off the water
jacket walls, heater core and radiator. It also improve thermostat and CTS
performance and increase engine life span.

SteveXnycperformance says:

yep.

jschucke says:

Great video except for the faggot comment.

cfactor221 says:

thanks man! one last question. i own a 02 impala with a 3.8 engine. i will
be replacing both the thermostat and the coolant temp sensor. however i
dont wanna bother draining the radiator and i understand that some of the
coolant will spill. can the spilling coolant cause any damage to any part
of the engine that it comes in contact with?

cfactor221 says:

hey, do i need to bleed the cooling system after i do this?

SteveXnycperformance says:

There is a reason why ppl have knee-caps..rofl.

TheMowingking says:

Where is the sensor for the gauge located on the 3.8l?? this is why my
gauge isnt working

thejoosisloos says:

Hey Steve, thanks for posting, good stuff! I’ve got the same make and
model. My check engine light came on, my heat doesn’t work, but my
temperature gauge is overheating. Is this much different, or what would I
have to check?

nowie visaya says:

my toyota gli 1.6 4a fe the temp. gauge is more than 1/2 remain steady but
its not overheating. how can i fix this one. i think the normal range of a
temperature is is below 1/2. why? give me a clue so that i know what to do.
the fan switch will engage if the temp. gauge is more than 1/2 but its not
overheating. please give me a response to this asap. thanks a lot and more
blessings to come

cfactor221 says:

thanks a lot man!!!

Benny Hatton says:

Can you show the New York faggot again?…..lol

SteveXnycperformance says:

@ 32F. That 158 degrees F temperature is like 75F for two minute until and
serious burn will take effect . 🙂

SteveXnycperformance says:

I`m trying to reply to your message but you have a block..

thejoosisloos says:

Thanks. I did also see that there’s no coolant, but haven’t noticed it
leaking on the driveway before (there was also no warning on the dash).
Read some horror stories of the dex-cool corroding parts and basically
ruining engines by seeping into the system. Any advice on what kind of
coolant to use? thanks again for your help, really appreciate it!

SteveXnycperformance says:

No Blow-By. it stays fresh and clean 🙂

Chill Will says:

Yo! That is exactly what i needed. To the point. Preciate ya’

SteveXnycperformance says:

use the green one.its safe. have the coolant system pressure test. to look
for leaks.
