My 01 grand prix showed a p1404 eml code (egr valve position closed) with a
bit of research, I’ve learned it means the valve is either corroded to the
point where it no longer moves and is stuck closed, or the exhaust
passageway leading to the egr is blocked. I’ve taken the egr off, and
pressed down on the torx bolt on the bottom assuming that’s the actual
valve, and it is moving freely. This must mean the passage is clogged up
with carbon buildup(?). How does one go about unblocking the passageway
without damaging the engine?
Im also having trouble with my car. I took it to o reilly to see if maybe i
needed a oil change or to add more coolant but the ranned a test in the
trouble code came out p0401 is there any way i can get something to take
care of the issue by myself or should i let a mechanic look into it…not
sure on what the code means
if you use carb cleaner it will wash all the grit down into where the
pintle moves up and down and may stick. I suppose if you were to hold it to
where the pintle points to the ground and spray up into it then let it dry
it would be fine. but just scraping the carbon off will be ok

I have an EGR circuit malfunction code. Any advice? My car hesitates
aggressively when I accelerate and the rpms are jumpy.
I also have a code for the throttle position sensor. Is that causing the
hesitation and high idling or is it the EGR. Thanks in advance.

nice video
you sound like Nicholas Cage
could this cause the engine to start burning coolant?
Do you think this would fix the P0117 code on a Chevrolet Equinox??
hey Chris E , if you don’t like our accent , DONT FUCKING COME AROUND
” JACKASS ! ”
I can’t push the little valve down at all. Absolutely refuses to budge! Any
idea why”
why dont u use some carb cleaner?
That doesn’t help, buy a new one, don’t waste your time.
American accent is so fucking annoying.
Thanks for posting the video. Worked great for me.
Is this more likely if someone is a city driver and doesn’t drive a lot on
the highways or at higher speeds?
Didn’t know Nicolas Cage was a mechanic
I think it would be helpful if you spoke more clearly.
your the 3rd person to say that. lol
Is that you Nicolas Cage?
