corners then Sonoma but put a 350 in it .
A 149k is a lot miles for us in the United Kingdom. That van looked and the
way you described it sounded like a death trap. Good thing you sorted your
Mother-in-law out with a better car Mr TLCBear. All the best :)
most all gm engines with a distributor have a set timing connector that
breaks out of the loom by the relay/ fuse panel on the left side of the
firewall. its a single wire connector that is tan with a black stripe. you
get engine warm, at operating idle, then connect timing light and disconect
the connector to set base timing with a timing light, which is usualy 4
degrees btdc. info should be on underhood sticker. newer distributorless
engines, like the 5.3, are computer controled and have no adjustment.
Sorry had to laugh and replay a couple of times when squirrel honked the
horn.
General Motors goes by 5000 mile intervals on that oil life monitor. My
father’s Cadillac SRX does the same thing even though we use full synthetic
every 3000 miles.
Hi tlcbar2.. The cars look great. That car wash really cleaned them up. To
bad about the close call. People these days live “a pedal to metal
lifestyle “. Nice to have the family at the shop. Its good your kid learns
these car skills from you. 99 % of kids in this day and age, are not shown
how to work with there hands. Biggest fail to are great nation. How many
cars you still have to work on ? I don’t know how many times, when I was a
kid I honked at my pops when he was under hood. Man did it scar him LOL..
Have a wonderful sunday. Keep the vidz coming.
Cheers, Mike F.
