Ohm testing a coil is a cheap and dirty screening test, but all of us have
seen bad coils that still ohm check appropriately. Confusing the issue is
the fact that bad connections can fluctuate. I’m glad you brought this up
because some people here on youtube don’t understand the limitations of
gross static testing.

Thanks for replying Dave and you’re absolutely correct! I see the same
thing on Youtube where people make a resistance check on some type of coil
and if it reads in specs, welllllllllllllllllllll, it’s GOT to be good!
Thanks for watching Dave!

Thanks for watching blackwell1384. This is only the first part of where
we’re checking resistance and the DC bias line. If this voltage isn’t
right, then it doesn’t matter whether the sensor is working. You’ll still
get a code. We’ll cover the actual sensor voltage in the next video to look
at the AC voltage with a DVOM and a scope. Thanks again blackwell!

thanks for the video. I don’t have a problem now but my car has a history
of having this sort of problem so I have been looking for something to
explain how to check these sensors.
