Buick LeSabre ABS, Traction Off Diagnosis Part 2

In the second part of this series, I go over the construction and operation of passive ABS sensors also known as VRS or magnetic pickups. Next, ABS wheel spe…

And thank you for going through the effort to post them. You might think
about linking them together, so the reader can click from one to the next.
To do that within Youtube you click on annotations, then note, then click
the link box below. No issue anyway, I know where to find you, (grin).

Smiling…yeah Dave sometimes they can get a little confusing. For example,
here in the US and maybe in Canada where you’re at, symbols tend to follow
the JIC standard for autos. Then when you start to look at the European
cars, they follow the IEC standard where symbols are totally different.
Most of the time, the manufacturers will provide a key for the symbols
explaining what they are. Oh, yes, the natural color. I really don’t know
exactly what that color is but I’ve always found it….cont

to be a light color such as an off-white, beige or even a light gray color.
Basically a light color is what I’m looking for when I go hunting for it.
Thanks Dave for watching. Next video will be up later which will really
have some technical detail later today, along with another one after that.
Thanks Dave for watching!

Thanks Dave…That’s a good idea! I probably should do that for the others.

Yes, appliances could be different Kevin. I’m trying to think back if I’ve
ever seen a translucent connector on an auto, and I can’t recall seeing
one. From my experience with the autos, I’ve always seen them as a light
color. Learn something all the time. That’s what we’re here for! Thanks
Kevin for the feedback.

Jeff Armer says:

You mean a wheel speed sensor ? This voltage is generated by magnetic
induction caused by passing the toothed sensor ring (part of the integral
hub/bearing assembly) past the stationary sensor. The signal is transmitted
to the EBCM through twisted wiring in order to help reduce electromagnetic
interference that can cause false or noisy WSS inputs to the EBCM.

Every time I look at a wiring diagram I find symbols that I don’t
recognize. What is a natural color, ha ha. Thanks for explaining that
infinity symbol, I never knew that.

stuzman52 says:

Yes, I had to review the video a little bit and I said ABS sensor which is
wheel sensor. And the rest of what you say, I mention. Maybe not in this
video, but in later videos. Thanks for watching.

In a household appliance I worked on recently I found so-called NAT
connectors which were simply translucent plastic, i.e. without any tint.
