hey man first and foremost these videos are very helpful for somebody who
does not have the funds to go to a shop for every minor car problem.
secondly, i want to know if it is ok to directly ask you for questions/tips
if we cant find the info on your videos?

SteveXnycperformance says:

The engine cooling fan (rightside) will turn-on at 230f degrees and shut
down at 210f degrees.

cpumaster1989 says:

I was thinking the same thing for the IAC and the TB I have an 02 Impala
with the 3800 and once the idle goes down or even when the sterring wheel
is at full lock the engine will die or when drove along the road it dies
too. Exhaust is leaking badly and the IAC is sticky and dirty. So I really
think it needs a good cleaning. Thank you

I have a 1996 park ave the heat wont blow out the mid level and doesn’t get
super hot but it does get hot the ac takes awhile to get cold but doesn’t
get frosty is that from the sensor? thanks for your knowledge

SteveXnycperformance says:

The AC might need re-charging and it`s in-line filter will need replacing
at the accumulator.Check the climate control door which Is control by a
vacuum line connected to a actuator.Does your PA feature a electronic
climate control/a manual climate control? If it electronic climate control
please consult the shop service manual which can be found in most MAIN
public library.Base on mileage, the A/C compressor might become a poor
performer,or lose of Freon.make sure the compressor clutch stay on.

Please go to this site- for great diagrams, and locations of car parts:

–I use it all the time. Good luck!

HUBBABUBBA DOOPYDOOP says:

Some were a 2 piece design- plastic/metal. After so many fails- GM scrapped
that dumb idea. It got to the point of a “recall”- shops would do the
change-out after warranty.

WWBZT1 says:

a dirty/ malfunctioning MAF can cause trans troubles… what is the upper
intake manifold made of…a GM parts guy said they were plastic…looks
like aluminum to me.

SteveXnycperformance says:

@kikaider003 its normal. a dual fan operation is only when the AC is ON or
the engine is over-heating.

jlrmywork says:

does anyone know where the Throttle Position Sensor is located on the 02
buick park avenue ultra?

Carlos Maruri says:

Great instructional video Steve, I have a question, I have a 2000 Monte
Carlo ss, 3800 series 2, when the car reaches a certain temperature only
one fan comes on, the one on the drivers side, is that normal?, cause I
thought both fans were suppose to come on

SteveXnycperformance says:

@pontiacpanic79 The thermostat might need replace.Try cleaning out the
throttle body plate with TB cleaner will help prevent any stalling. Also the
steering rack is equip with a psi sensor.this sensor tell the ECM to
increase the engine speed +50 RPM if the steering wheel should turn.Faulty
sensor will also cause stall. If the low oil psi continue after cleaning the
TB, try replacing the Oil Psi sensor ,most are Plastic and known for leaks
into internal circuit.Try using a Ac-Delco PF52 oil filter

SteveXnycperformance says:

Check for a vacuum leak along the intake gasket joint, hose, injector
O-rings. try replace the fuel filter.any parts store should be able the get
you the TB screen.Ac-delco make it.it will required a c-clip,which hold the
screen in the TB bore.take a look at this video, /watch?v=ST0qUTAztPk.
remove the screen may cause a P0171.

pontiacpanic79 says:

once again, thanks steve. I have question for you, my 94 bonneville has low
oil pressure and the cooling fans never come on but the car never
overheats. also if i let the engine run for about 30 min the inside the car
is nice and warm but after i start driving the engine temperature goes down
and the heat inside the car gets colder. oh yea, i am pretty sure the
reason why my car stalls if i take a turn too fast or randomly the engine
dies is the oil level indicator switch. Any idea what wrong?

SteveXnycperformance says:

@kikaider003 might be another faulty sensor, or check the fan relay for
burn coil.

Satobatsu Kaiba says:

Hey Steve, Is there a replacement for the screen that straightens out the
air before the MAF sensor? I keep getting a P0171 (System too lean) error
that puts on the service engine soon light! Thanks for your help

SteveXnycperformance says:

@SHANGRALAAAA17 The ECT sensor is located below the thermostat housing
which the radiator hose is connected. The ECT is screwed into lower intake
manifold .a 19mm combination wrench is required for removal. It`s important
that you replace thermal wrapping around the sensor so it is not affected
by exhaust manifold heat.

SHANGRALAAAA17 says:

you talked about the TB. i was waiting for the location of the ect sensor

pontiacpanic79 says:

@SteveXnycperformance thanks steve, i will try that

Carlos Maruri says:

Thanks Steve, I should say that I’ve had a faulty temperature sensor in the
past, I had it replaced, but it has malfunctioned a couple of times, in
which case I had to unplug the fans or they will stay running all night,
any advice on what this could be, is it just another faulty sensor or could
this b an electrical issue
