Thank you for stopping by to watch our 2010-2013 Buick Lacrosse fender removal and installation. The Buick LaCrosse is made by GM and is a classic American car that is very reliable and comfortable to drive. This fender replacement was fairly easy to do but it did have some bolts that seemed unnecessary and a bit hard to find. Some of these bolts were also a T20 Torx bit bolts, which are always a pain. Why have different types of bolts? It just complicates things but it’s pretty easy if you have the right tools and know where to look. Our customer came in to get her bumper and fender replaced. We’ll post the link to the bumper at the end of this video. This car was in a previous accident because you can clearly see it was painted before and the fenders were repaired with Bondo. This is not the best way to do it, the small dealership should have just replaced the fender instead. You can see the bondo beginning to crack and peel off. So, let’s get started with our ReveMoto painted parts install!

TOOLS NEEDED:
You will need 10mm socket wrench, preferably an impact gun for speed. You will need the socket wrench for the interior bolts. You will also need a T20 Torx bit for a couple screws. Lastly, you’ll a panel clip removal tool or a flat-head screwdriver for the plastic clips. You’ll also need a handheld rivet gun for the fender bracket/bumper retainer.

PROCESS:
We started by quickly removing the fender bolts. There will always be bolts in similar locations for any car. We previously removed the front bumper, so we already had the front fender bolts exposed. We removed those first and made our way around the fender. There is a hidden bolt behind the fender liner. Be sure to remove that and the foam piece to expose the bolt. Also, the bottom bolts, bolt in from the top going down, which is a bit annoying and hard to reach. Most cars will have the bolts going from the rocker panel up towards the car. Once these difficult bolts are off, you can remove the door bolts. The last screw is by the windshield cowl and it’s a T20 torx bit screw. You do not have to completely remove it, you can loosen it and slide the fender up for removal. Now that the fender is off, you can now transfer over any pieces that you can. You would have to drill out the rivets from the old fender bracket to get them off. Our bumper retainer was broken, so we changed that out and we only had to insert the rivets. You can purchase the rivet gun and rivets at a local hardware store for around $20. It’s very affordable and comes in handy. Install the bumper retainer and then you can mount the fender on the car. This part should be very simple, just work in reverse and secure all the bolts. Be sure to check the spacing on the door and hood. You do know what the door hitting the fender. We fixed our spacing with the hood by moving the fender back just a little. We ended by clipping on or installing the fender liner. There are quite a few clips but they are easy to replace. After that is done, you’ve successfully replaced your new fender!
