Good luck with the plastic window! I did it back in September. The hardest
part was getting the stupid thing lined up properly.

Hi I think you said 8 mm bolts needed to push the pump out? So I will have
to purchase these bolts to get the pump out?

BMW Repair says:

Sounds like you’ll have some interesting projects. I’d love to hear how it
goes. And, yes, it is leaking a small amount of oil. I haven’t decided if
it’s worth trying to fix, but I’ll be interested in your experience.

BMW Repair says:

I believe they were 6mm, but yes, pick these up at a local hardware shop or
auto parts place. They don’t have to be anything special, and they will
make your job so much easier!

BMW Repair says:

It started having excessive play. This caused the fan to hit the fan shroud
and break. Typically, the impeller will break and the car will overheat or
the the water pump will start to leak. My case, however, was somewhat
unusual. I had none of these symptoms.

Hi, nice work, thanks. We have a ’97 328ic w/103,000. Have you had oil leak
problems? We are about set to diy valve cover gasket, oil change, cabin
filter change, and install $34 ebay cold air intake. In a couple months
will attempt to replace zip-out rear plastic window. Will need some luck
here. GR
