steve romeo says:

Is it the same replacement for e46 323 1999? Or do i have to take out the
whole motor?

Thanks for any advice.

Ron Harris says:

Great Video Thanks! I have a 1992 BMW 325i. I has a manual
Transmission. When I start up in the morning in 1st gear, I am getting a
bit of shuddering when I let out the clutch. However, when the car warms
up it seems to be ok in 1st gear and does not shudder. Last year, I
replaced the spark plugs and found a couple of the plug cylinders had oil
in them. So, I put a bit of red sealant around the o-rings. So, I am
wondering if perhaps they have filled up again with oil and are perhaps
causing a bit of loss of power which might may possibly be causing the
shudder??? The car has 207,000 and did have a clutch replaced around
75,000 miles. So, in any case, before I go through the whole process of
replacing the clutch, I thought I would at least send you a note and see
what you thought. I live in Michigan. I would love to have you do the
clutch replacement if it needed it. What do you charge to do all that work?

Kevin Hancock says:

Hi I have a bmw e46 coupe (diesel) my clutch isn’t gone or even dragging at
all but I do get clutch judder which iv read is often the pressure plate
slipping and I am getting clutch rattle when depressing the clutch peddle
to a certain point now I have been told this is likely to be the clutch
release bearing I am due to have the clutch replaced and bearing but would
you recommend a flywheel change too *? Thank you

Sean Seanerd says:

great video, professional at work,he was performing like actor in theater

Sasa Tolic says:

Do I have a problem if you replace the double flywheel with single
flywheel. It is about 46 e 2002 105 kv. thanks in advance

Uriel Gonzalez says:

Very detailed…. I like it. Also, the “Why” you do what you do is also
very helpful that other videos don’t explain. Thanks for the video.

Sasa Tolic says:

I can not find for my car anywhere in Serbia, such a circuit. it is a BMW E
46 318 1995 cc generates an output of 105 kW

rsaba says:

Thanks Otto ! You are the best !

Nazgul001 says:

Thanks for a great video!

jacob linton says:

You guys are awesome! I’ve been a professional mechanic for ten years and I
have never used anti-seize on seal’s I always use a little grease, assembly
lube or whatever fluid or oil suits the application. I’m always happy to
learn new tricks of the trade though thanks.

Javier Q says:

I installed the UCC aluminum flywheel and the clutch that comes with the
kit from Bavauto, the problems is the cla ..cla cla cla noise I get when
the car is in neutral , I did the installation according with your video,
what can I do to eliminate that noise? Do I need to return to my original
clutch?

tony coleman says:

Hi, Great video, can you tell me the symptoms of a failing dual mass
flywheel.
I have a BMW 320d E90 2005. 116k. Getting a lot of vibration under the
car (not through the steering wheel) when accelerating at 2k/3k rpm
typically in 3 / 4 /5th gears this is under the car, rear wheels are
balanced, using the clutch i have no issue, thats working great..
Thanks

acTelius says:

can you tell me if a BMW 525 TDS E34 from 1992 (construction code is HA91)
is equiped with a DMF ?

tomasz balinski says:

great job with proper tools!!
i got bmw320d e92 2010 question why the pedal is wirking very hard and
after few miles when you start the motor you can hear like one bang and
this happen only when the engine is hot ,cold no problem what so ever.
any idea what can create this ?

rigsbyL1 says:

I have a 1998 Z3 2.8 coupe. with 110K miles I have a sort of judder at very
low speed especially when the engine is cold. Is this the clutch do you
think or is it caused by the fuel injectors ? I also think I can hear some
noise from the clutch a kind of low pitched errrrrrrrrrr noise ? what do
you think ?

NewGenZ says:

When using the uuc lightweight flywheel, do you also have to put some sort
of an extension rod on the slave cylinder? Is the trow-out bearing
different or the uuc flywheel is the same off set as the OEM dual-mass
flywheel?
Thank you

AlphaAsFuark! says:

How many hours of labor would this procedure take?

luismp3 says:

very educational

jbw5485 says:

SUBSCRIBED!!!

Nazgul001 says:

Thanks guys! I’d like to see install a set of rear shocks on a Z4 2004.

David Niquot says:

Ok, the release bearing was broken, advice : Do not use a reinforce
mecanism with a stock release bearing…. well the man at Sachs told me the
it was the procedure, but obviously it does not work… unless you want to
change your release bearing every 20000 km…

Danny Irizarry says:

WOW !!! PROFESSIONAL INSTALL!!! One question? Does the 2011 M5 6 speed has
the dual mass system also? My Boss has one and he is thinking about doing a
conversion because the clutch does not hold grip as the way it used too,
Great JOB!!!

tedy tedy r says:

How deep is that 30 mm impact socket?

David Niquot says:

Done mine one year ago, took me 2 days… 🙂 I use a Sach reinforced
mecanism and a standard disc (no springs). I was having a vibration at the
pedal for a long time after having installed this new clutch, then today
the the clutch release bearing has broken… Do you have an idea of what
can gave me vibration at the pedal ? Frequency is synchronized with the
engine rpm, gear engaged or not leave the same feeling… Ideas ?

Dee Bee says:

great guide.. need help bavauto.. followed your guide to the dot,
successfully installed a new clutch and pressure plate by Sachs,
reinstalled the transmission, start the engine and all good no noise etc
but clutch is not engaging??? put it in 1st or reverse gear but nothing?? i
can even release the clutch and engine wont die.. also while the car is
running, i can shift to all the 5 gears and reverse even if im not stepping
on the clutch.. any advice?

Max Lindner says:

You lube the seal with copper compound?? O.o

Scrateshooter says:

What size is the nut on the output flange? I bought a 30mm and it’s too
small.

Jevgeni Piispanen says:

Super ) ) )

BavarianAuto says:

We can’t be sure about your specific case, without driving the car, knowing
the vehicle and parts details, etc, but your issue may be due to the
unsprung clutch disc, which may be transmitting more engine vibrations.

MrHorsepowerfreake30 says:

Thank you Sir. Im about to tackle this project!

john2000cash says:

Thanks for the video. How does the price of this replacement kit compare
with the OEM dual mass flywheel? Also – I was told that the DMF was
intended to absorb some torque and that a solid flywheel could make gear
change rough. Have you had any experience with ford Mondeos?

BavarianAuto says:

This is not a project that we would typically produce a DIY video series
on, due to the unique nature of the job and the differences from model to
model. However, we do have a general Auto to 5-speed conversion DIY on our
tech blog. Just go to blog.bavauto.com and search for “Automatic to 5-speed”

estrelladelnorte1308 says:

nice video!

samoahbay says:

How many hours did you spend for that replacing?
