Manny Zuni says:

change all cooling sistem. and you save money,, easy to do it a home,.

AutoWerksofAmerica says:

Yes, the E36 & E46 are similar in this area.

mikestylz96 says:

Is it possible to do this without a clutch removal tool?

T Hill says:

You’re freaking awesome! Thank you!

AutoWerksofAmerica says:

@aLex0kain Thanks for asking. Have you made an attempt? Can you tell me
what particular part you don’t understand? I’d be happy to provide
additional guidance.

AutoWerksofAmerica says:

If you’re referring to the removal of the fan as shown in this M3, it would
be the same. Facing the front of the car the nut gets turned to the right.
It’s a left-handed thread, so it turns the opposite direction from most
other things you work on. We hope that helps you. Good luck on your
project, and thanks for watching!

Manny Zuni says:

I have a question, I bought a 2003 bmw 325i.whit overheating problems. i
change everything in the system. the car is warming up, accidentally put my
fingers to the fan and stopped.

Henry Lavigne says:

I remove the upper radiator hose to gain better access, then use a large
adjustable wrench on the fan nut and a 10 mm box-end wrench to hold one of
the pulley nuts in place. Easy peasy. Having the radiator hose off also
helps with putting the fan back on.

AutoWerksofAmerica says:

If the water pump is turning with the drive belts and your water
temperature is high enough to trigger the fan to work but it is still
free-wheeling, it could very well be the fan clutch. Keep in mind that the
purpose of the clutch is to allow the fan to free-wheel until coolant is
hot enough to require use of the fan to assist air flow through the
radiator.

Paul Miller says:

Hi, I am putting together an information site called Older BMWs. The
purpose of the site is to put as many BMW tips and fixes in one place. I
was wondering if I could include your video on the site. Thanks, Paul

This is really helpfull:D Thank you.

AutoWerksofAmerica says:

Congratulations!

AutoWerksofAmerica says:

@aLex0kain Three suggestions come to mind: 1) Rubber mallet to the wrench
might help get the fan off. 2) Pay attention to the route of the belt,
making a sketch for when you install the new one. 3) We have some other
related videos that might be helpful for your project. Thanks again for
contacting us, and best of luck on your project. (OH – wear safety glasses
when under the car, and follow all other safety precautions on your owner’s
manual or service manual.)

AutoWerksofAmerica says:

Try Amazon.com. or Sears.com. I found it on both by searching for “BMW Fan
SpannerTool”

briseno508 says:

What is the tool called not the wrench but the other black one that holds
the pulley

jeanlenor says:

the fan behind is also broken and I realize that it’s making contact with
the radiator causing it to break into pieces but i don’t know whether or
not I should change the fan clutch too..how about the water pump how do I
know it’s good

Spencer Tarter says:

That hose that you were talking about at 1:55. What does the other end
connect to?

jeanlenor says:

my 323i was hit by a deer and since fan’s not working, do you think I
should try this or what other suggestions?

Manny Zuni says:

if the car under 2003,,

Manny Zuni says:

auto parts 15 bucks,, and 1 hammer, very careful ,loose to the right easy,

bluewker says:

How likely am I to get this fan out without the fan tool this weekend? I am
going to take a rubber mallet to my 32mm wrench. I can’t find a tool for
this job (and I need it done ASAP! Princess Auto and NAPA don’t have the
fan tool for me and I don’t have time to wait for eBay).

AutoWerksofAmerica says:

Try using a big screwdriver between one of the bolts and the input shaft on
the water pump. As long as the fan is not overly tight it should come off
relatively easily. I’ve used this method on our 635 CSi race car without a
problem. Basically, all the tool does is keeps the water pump from turning
with the fan.

markomoskalj says:

hi…can you make a video how to remove climate fan? tnx..
