I bought the cheapest F90 BMW M5 Competition i could find on the internet. The mechanic who sold it me said it wasn’t worth repairing, but i thought id give it a go and repair some serious structural damage! After being successful i thought it might be easy from there, but i was wrong and now the expensive part starts!

You would have had to fill charge cooler with some sort of liquid to find leak, no biggie.

Curious how many man hrs you’ve got into this build and what you value those at? Once that number is added to the cost of the build I wonder if there’s any profit to b made ?

Including your working hours this car is probably 80k? Just guessing, still an amazing achievement, not trying to talk down on the calculation <3.

Matt, another thing that would be great at the end is to put a rough labour time, something wheeler dealers never really done. I currently have a track car and am in the middle of looking for another newer/faster track car from copart and keep getting to the same situation of the cost of the repair cost to the cost of buying a none crash damaged car that isn't registered. Never many bargains atm. Keep up the good work fella.

But you bring back a machine that was otherwise destined for the scrap yard. Mend and make do … money saved is money earned. Its an old saying, but still relevant in today's throw away mentality.
Well done Matt.

I’m curious how long does it take to receive the parts? Like the last hose … did you just drive to the shop and get one?

Stikmannn says:

if you don't lock tight literally every nut and bolt you remove won't it all just rattle loose eventually?
