Dave Reith says:

That is what I call a C.O.D. Casualty of Disassembly. I’d have charged the customer for this and explained that although it would seem to be the shops fault, it was an aging rubber that could not stand being tampered with. I’d have eaten the labor.

Luís Brigham says:

If i was the costumer i would pay for the broken part, the mechanic is not to blame for worn out material.

junaid hussein says:

The part was at the end of it's useful life. Good for you for taking responsibility. Plastic and rubber parts fail on BMWs. It's how they achieve their performance and 50/50 weight distribution. I love them. Quirks and all

decayingsounds13 says:

As an N55 owner i'm dreading this . Good thing i got the upgraded charge pipe

Derek Forreal says:

Definitely a good move covering it for the customer.

Chris Smith says:

Bloody bmw’s

Thomas Ballenger says:

Good for you.
A person with real inyegrity getting scarce anymore.

IWORKYOUWATCH says:

Made a mistake but the next one you do you can tell the customer ahead of the time that there is a likely event some of the plastic pipes may break because they are brittle that way your not eating it again

paulmartin2k7 says:

Totally appreciate that kind of workmanship. I do however question a plastic flange going onto the turbo. Seems a bit of a design flaw. Not came across it myself but normally find it's a hose jubilee clipped

Rsport100 says:

Impossible not to brake it. Bad build quality, good service but temporary loss for workshop.
