just buy a locking wheel nut removal kit
I have a 2007 328i. Had the same problem. When I bought it I needed to replace the washer pump. After many frustrating attempts I found said lug keys online from a site that specifically caters to BMW owners. Got the key and I was off to the races!!!
Worked at a tire shop years ago could of had these off in 10 minutes with a 12 point socket. Dont overthink these things

Have you tried to put more torque on other 4 blots to release the secure bolt?
When I bought my truck I went around and took them off and threw them away
pretty sure the shop my gf went to lost her key and they should be held responsible but at the same time guys,anytime there is work done at the shop make sure u locate that damn thing before u leave the shop (tell your gfs or less car savvy friends) and for an older car ,shit jsut put regular lugs back in place of it and be done with it
My opinion wheel locks are worthless. If the wheels are wanted bad enough thieves will have what they need to take them.
Why not have owner just get a new key?
"Lug Extractor Sockets". I use them all the time in these cases. Only way it doesn't work for me is if it's overtightened or corroded on.
drill the pin flat then hammer a old torx socket or hex socket in.
I'm sure someone already posted this elsewhere in the 900+ comments here: "AutoZone sells BMW wheel lock keys and locking lug nuts, and offers free in-store pickup." likely around $35
Should have gone to BMW dealer. They could have removed those locks easily.. I have a neighbor who had that problem with a vw. dealer removed the locks and replaced them with regular bolts at little charge.
30 years ago I had the same problem. I drilled the lugnut as you did and then used an easyout bit to crank it out by hand power.
