In this video we upgraded the tiny 6.5” “peasant display” to the larger 8.8” display. In my opinion, this is the screen that the 340i should have come with.
We also installed the BimmerTech Multi Media Interface (MMI Prime) which allows you to use both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as install a backup camera if your car didn’t come with one.

Did you have to plug anything into the aux port in the center console? Also, does CarPlay automatically boot up as soon as the car is turned on?
Hello i recently bought a bmw with the same screen but today for some reason the screen went black and i cant get it to turn back on, do u guys know why please help.
Genuinely curious as I am interested in doing this mod myself, why is the screen $900? Hasn't screen technology come down drastically in price considering how matured the technology is now?

If I do not have car play in my BMW now due to not having the nav package forcing me to not be able to use it, will this screen now allow me to use apple play in my car? Thanks
