Thank you, your video is great. I have a E39 525 tds with the same problem
since long time. With your clear indications I going to try to repair by
myself. Really interesting.

Thanks

@akosivlad There’s a pin in the center of each side and the pin is held
starionary by a spring. You push the pin toward the center of the car and
turn a quarter rotation and then release it out.

The front wheels are chocked- back axle on stands- trans in neutral.

Reg Davis says:

Brian what’s happenin? Great job on the vid! My e-brake shoes are in the
same condition on my e39, is that a potential hazard or something needs to
be addressed ASAP? A buddy of mine recommend I avoid parking on hills.

foxdmulder says:

@briansmobile1 sorry, If I read that myself looking at it now I wouldnt
understand it either!! I work for myself as well, just opened a small shop,
Its presently a learning game for me. I’ve learned that 85% of the cars I
service have alloy wheels. Some of this have a lock stud on each wheel, Im
just wondering if you remove the lock stud with the socket thats with the
car or do you have a special set of your own.

briansmobile1 says:

briansmobile1 says:

@m3xican02 The adjustment is a bolt/nut 11mm that sticks straight up next
to the ebrake handle.
