If I change one from spring, do I need to do the other from one as well at the same time?
No danger does anything fall out that easy. So yeah the instructions are bang on! but if you're doing this be prepared for it not going this way.
I have seen a few where some has taken the strut out from the top first and have had problems clearing the fender and I have seen a couple of videos where they take the strut out at the bottom as you did which seems easier do you kno why they would do the top first ? thanks in advance for any help on this.

Great video, thanks. I have a couple of questions however. Firstly, are these springs the same for all models between 2006 and 2011 (for a normal E90 320d)? And secondly, is there a specific coil direction for the LHS and RHS of the car? I'm a bit confused at the variety of springs available with some parts retailers.

How about torque specs on the bolts and how much the suspension was loaded when tightening the control arms
