Door lock actuator failure is a common problem on many BMW models from 2006-2011. If you notice your locks closing in slow motion or not working at all, it’s time to replace your door lock actuator.

Fortunately they aren’t terrible expensive, and even a novice can replace them in a couple hours using simple hand tools.

This is the same process for the following BMW chassis: E60, E61, E63, E64, E65, E66m D70, E71, E82, E83, E88, E90, E91, E92, and E93

I liked the video. I always enjoy the content. I learn every time I watch one. The only suggestion I have on the heat situation is this. I know you just need it to be comfortable while you are in there filming for a few hours a week now but think about the future and what might happen. You could end up spending more and more time out there. A little more right now may save you money in the future

Bobby says:

Brother, you make it look so easy. It would make me feel better if you told me you invented some new bad words during the installation. Hahaha!

Cool video. My driver side door lock has been broken for a year now. I have to use the key to open it old school style. I might give it a try to save some money.

Airborne says:

My rear passenger door lock will not unlock when I unlock my doors with the remote. The other doors unlock with no problems. I have to physically unlock the passenger door with the internal door handle. It locks with the remote with no problems.

I did this a few months back ! One hell of a job and a new actuator from the dealer was almost $300!

GTAYLOR1972 says:

Crappy door locks are not mutually exclusive to BMW, my Toyota has the same problem right now, and Toyota's are notorious for power door lock failures, as well as windows. I spoke to the dealer I bought it from and they said it would be at least 800 bucks probably more to get it fixed. :/ . I have just put up with it and can still unlock the door with the Key and manually unlock and lock all the other doors from the inside.

Victor Gonzalez says:

Hey Justin hope you and your Family had a great Thanksgiving. I know I haven't been commenting very much lately but I make sure not to miss any episodes. Keep up the good work!

cameron jacobsen says:

Shanirani Kauboj says:

Not BMW related, but you mention it. 🙂
How much does heating cost in US? I mean, do you guys use wood, or electricity, and what is the price for all that?

Dwight Smith says:

Nice video……I have a 2011 E93, but my issue is the glove box. It has a electronic switch and i can't seem to find a decent remedy to keep it working. I've taken it apart several times and it will work for a week then quit. So the only way to open now is to use the "key" to operate the hatch. If you hear any remedies to fix this please let me know!!
