Hi lilbabiejo3, I have a question in this video you said you were not going
to replace your o2 sensor you were just going to “clean them up” How do you
clean them and will this work to avoid having to replace them? Thanks
Bank 1 is the front three cylinders
I got a couple of CEL codes that showed a bank 1, sensor 2 problem. This
video really helps in swapping them out. But man, you need to send that
fork lift driver somewhere the next time you shoot one!
yes
dude if you ever replace the coolant temperature senor plz post it up
thank you dude. i`ve changed my one. without this i could not do it. even i
have a e46 but was a big help. keep it up…
Yeah, I hear you…Mine sounds like yours (2001 525i/E39). I can’t see
where the other end of the O2 sensors plug into. I think, I’m op to take
mine to my local mechanic. The upstream O2 are easy enough to get too,
though the bank 2 one (near the firewall is a tight fit, but doable for me.
The downstream ones seem to be a bitch for my limited “shade-tree” skills.
🙁
Hey Lilbabbiejo3, please email me with your contact info. I have a few
questions for you off line. I’m at: dblanc2000@yahoo.com Thanks!
i will. do you need to replace yours ?
facebook me BeamerFanatics
@michael Its a 97 528i
so if i go under my car its gonna be the sensor to my right right? thanks a
lot lilbabiejo3 thanks for answering my question god bless u.
lol sorry about that dumpster truck
Lilbabbiejo3, what year and model is that car? I have a 2002 525i e39 and
my setup does not look like yours at all. and I have no access from the
tire wheel well either. it’s blocked off and has a heat shield too. There
is a brack on the exhaust, but on the bottom of the exhaust–nothing on top
like the one you swung out of the way. And even with that brack I have off
(not yet), ther’d be no room for a wrench.
Thank you again for posting this. Now since this is a pre 9/98 e39, I’m
assuming your replacing the 2 PRE-cat sensors, correct? Because I hear
there are 4 (2 pre cats and 2 post cats) in models pre 9/98. And only 2 (1
pre cat and 1 post cat) in post 9/98 models.
Thanks for this, going to do mine over the next couple of weeks
Thank you for putting up the video. I have to replace my sensor pre cat on
Cyl 1-3, and Post cat Cyl 1-3. What did you do to clean up the O2 sensor so
it no longer generates a error code or check engine light?
you don’t need to remove the bar from the block to remove the front two
sensors. I wouldn’t use a 7/8″ wrench when it is a 22mm wrench that is
required. If you’re removing them to replace, and you’ve got your
replacements on hand, just cut the wires of the old ones and put the box
(closed) end over the sensor. If the sensor is rusted in there you’ll need
the entire correct sized wrench over the flats so you don’t round them off.
Round em off and you gotta take off the header to get to them
@Dimelarazon Yes
