Thanks you for this video! it was a great explanation!
You explain things grea5
Thank you Brian… Your time & effort is much appreciated.
How come it took longer to screw on? Shouldn’t you clean the caliper and
bracket with a wire brush?
Great video and thanks for the instructions
Thank You
hey bro how often do i need to change my rear and frond pads ? and what the
better pads with low dusting ? thank you
Good video. maybe you can use a light to show the sensors. otherwise it was
very helpful. Thanks dude.
If they are sticker shims than just the back of the shim. If they are
trapped shims then do both sides of the shim.
This video is borderline USELESS. Everything I would need to know is “just
out of view”. LMAO. I watched this and one other video before I said F#$K
it. I changed the breaks on my BMW 745 and while I was at it u Know since I
was dirty anyway I changed the brakes on my Twin Turbo Porsche. HORRIBLE
VIDEO WITH HORRIBLE LIGHTING and EVEN WORSE ANGLES LOL.
watch other videos first and then you know what brian is doing even without
lighting.
Hi, can i ask you? I have 2001 BMW 740iL, there is almost 50% of braking
pads life left but computer says “check braking linnings’, can you tell me
is it bacause of bad sensor?
Welcome- thanks for check’n in.
You’re right. Since then I’ve purchased much better cameras and improved
the lighting. Thanks for your feedback.
If you drive like it’s stolen (especially in the rain) replace them. If you
drive conservatively then I’d recommend turning them.
Agreed. Love the vids…..
No worries. I have a pretty healthy outlook on things.
Way to go! I’m quite happy for you! = D
You’re entitled to your own opinion. The rotor survived. I pry close to the
inside so it won’t damage the braking surface. I could say your comment
denotes idiocy. Rather than stating your opinion you chose to make it
potentially offensive as well. It doesn’t benefit you at all and could get
you blocked. Once blocked you would have less access to info you may have
had before. Bless your heart.
@bfree007 There are shims on the caliper bracket that the pads fit into. If
they are omitted you get that. The shims hold the pads in place.
Welcome!
Excellent primer! Hadn’t done one is a while. I used a screw type
spreader… a little more gentle and even on retracting the single piston.
Thanks so much …and please add me to your distribution 🙂
decent vid 🙂
you are awesome!
@briansmobile1 is this pry bar method well know?, its so stupidly easy you
should patent it . again many many thanks
I want to buy a box of those black gloves you are using.
I work on X, 3, 5, and 7 series. I’m not sure about 1 series.
is this the E60?
cannot see the video because you put the camera behind you :(((
thanks
turn the key on, but don’t start it. Wait 10 seconds for the brake pad
light to go out. Turn the key off.
The parking pin/pawl? on inside an automatic transmission is different than
your emergency brake on your rear brake system. In my opinion a car (that I
would be comfortable driving) should be able to come to a stop using either
the hydraulic or mechanical braking systems. As for stopping while driving
down a grade an obsolete mechanical/drum/rear braking system on only two
wheels may not be adequate. In an emergency aim the car uphill if possible
or at something cheap and soft like a bush.
@shinbetUK if the lights not on you can reuse it.
hahahahahaha if u drive like its stolen that was funny.hey brian my wife
says i watch ur videos more than i watch her lol.
@MrVmax05 You’re welcome- MAKE SURE to turn the key on for 45 seconds with
the engine off so the computer will register the fixed sensor as good or
the warning will just keep coming back on again.
your so hot when you put people in there places
@bfree007 You can search for a disc brake hardware kit for it. They also
come with many high grade brake pads. Many Thermoquiet ceramic pads come
with them in the box.
